Mellisai Mannar MSV, as he is populary known as, was the king of light
music for a period of approximately 15 years. (During this period,
Ramamoorthy was his almost inseparable partner and contributed to
much of his success.) His style of music gives lot of
importance to the lyrics and in combination with Kannadasan
he has produced many memorable songs, which are still fresh in the hearts
of the people. In particular, his compositions for duets sung by
T. M. Soundarajan and P. Susheela, produced many all time great hits.
MSV's songs have played an important role in MGR's popularity.
