The following news says its otherwise. 'Mumbai Express' doesn't seem to be the remake of this spanish movie. Even the filmfare interview seems to suggest this.
Kamal Haasan to remake a Spanish film
This chameleon like actor is planning to remake a Spanish film, which impressed him very much. He has also bought the remake rights of this film. This is surprising news as usually our Indian filmmakers ‘freemake’ any foreign film without buying rights.
Kamal Haasan after watching this Spanish film called ‘Tempus Bhagit’ on DVD called upon the film’s producer Enrique Bolshe and bought remake rights. Kamal Haasan will be directing it. This film will commence after he finishes his current “Mumbai Express’’ and “Roja Combines’’ film.

Note man,
The point is you brought up the topic of 'hollywood music' being a benchmark. Everyone else was just responding to your statements...
How come in the next post you were preaching against the colonial mentality of others whereas in fact, you are the one with such a mentality...

Dude (now with a capital D??)..
I have been careful enough to say that hollywood may not be the best standard. Please read my initial posting which has a statement called "or the best possible" in the parenthesis or brackets. And I have explained what I meant exactly in my subsequent posting as well. What more do you need? If you are still don't understand, I can't help it.

i am sure Kamal is singing all the songs, atleast as long as there are some Ellam Inba Mayam type fun songs or Kalyanraman, it will be great! Those were the days!.

After suffering virumANdi, I wish Kamal DOES NOT sing any of the songs and let SPB create some magic...he used to be good for just one song per film those days ('rAja kaiya vachA', 'sundari neeyum', 'kaNmaNi anbOdu' etc.) but even that would be too much now, considering his kind-of- broken-voice-of-present (probably no practice and the aging factor)...
Singeetham used to have good sense of music -good ear/taste? - for all his films, hope he picks up some excellent numbers from Raja (with possible experimentation using fusion...)

How old was Kamal at the time of `kaLathur kaNNammA'? (1960)...His first film is 44 years old and add to that his age at that time...

Tempus Fugit
Ramon is a completely ordinary guy, a little boring, a little common and not exactly prone to adventure. He works as a watchmaker and doesn't have the courage to talk to the beautiful woman he observes every day at the Town Square. Everything takes a dramatic change when all of a sudden a tall, blonde and extremely mysterious stranger emerges. It appears that he comes from the future with a message that Ramon is the only one who can save the world from ruin. And as if that wasn't complicated enough, Ramon doesn't make things any easier for himself when he happens to try some pills the stranger had brought with him that have the ability to bring a person back and forth in time. The pills are named Tempus Fugit, and if he didn't get in enough trouble by eating them himself it doesn't get any better when Ramon's lady friend Angie accidentally swallows one – not to speak about when his football fanatic neighbour does the same thing.
Tempus Fugit includes everything that a good comedy ought to. At a furious pace it tells a mad tale that invites a lot of laughter but also excitement, romance and drama. And until the very end the question of whether or not this unlikely hero will succeed with his quest of saving the world, so that it in the future humankind will be populated by men looking like Barbie's Ken, remains open.

Will there be songs in 'Mumbai Express'?Though Kamal has not mentioned anything about it,in the interview with Sify he says it is the movie KG which has now been retitled.KG was supposed to be a stylish cop/detective thriller with no songs&no heroine.Mumbai Express is a breezy entertainer but not in the regular format says Kamal.Ellame Kozhappama irukke.

I think Tempus fugit can make a good film...
Really different from the usual stuff that has been churned out...
hope he does relake it!
Looks like Mumbai Express will be followed by KG directed by Gowtham and then Tempus Fugit!
It is party time for kamal fans... Hope he gets enough money for Marudhanayagam! Just saw a glimpse of a battle seen... looks promising!
