  Thanks. That may be true. IR's output ratio good vs bad songs has reduced. He apparently is in the experimentation mode. A detailed analysis of IR's composing style of late had been done in IR's new albums thread last year.
  
  ( I am not sure I meant that people's taste has gone down) But, I think people's tastes (for sounds especially) change. Say, hypothetically, we would have liked MSV's tunes for IR's music 10 years ago and ARR's music for IR's tunes now.
  
  For most part the movie going audience are youth and so, as generations change we see changes in various aspects accordingly. Also, depends on economic aspects. People have access to western music for cheap nowadays and hence are more music aware. Anything the Indian MD's may sound antiquated. But, that's where people like IR score over other contemporaries, because of his insistence to stick to his style, which I beleive to be totally unique and astounding. To some extent ARR also manages, but his good songs ratio also has taken an exponential drop due to over experimentation in an attempt to give new sounds.

  You seem to know the facts and still you are trying to prove something. But there are composers other than ARR in TFM who have fared well than IR recently. But humbleness is something each and every person who has worked with ARR has commented.

  Heard about PR! The humility thing is just hogwash. An example why this is a hogwash is that this guy has never even once recognized the accomplishments of IR. People who lived thru' the 70s and 80s in Madras first hand know the impact IR had on film music in particular and music in general. All this guy has commented is that IR doesnt drink or he has never heard IR's music..what a bunch of crock....If you want to see real humility, talk about great people like Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, a doyen in Carnatic music on his own who was big enough to recognize real accomplishments of IR. This humility of hype of ARR is just a self-created hype seemingly to differentiate himself with IR. But people in TN are known to be suckers...didnt they elect Jayalalitha and MGR?

  What are you talking...Just because you did not come accross any interview in which ARR jalra adichufied for Ir, it doesn't mean he does not recognise IR's work...what do you expect...to ARR put a big hoarding in ANNA salai saying..."IRrukku naan adimai..yen music avarukku kanikkai"...forget man....Summa...yen dhaan indha cinema thaanama..yosikkireengalo....hello...both are professionals...and both have respect for each other...or else one wouldn't have presented a gold ring and the other wouldn't have humblly said that its against his principle to wear gold but still accept the offer.
  
  Okay...enna idhu "semmangudi..semmangudi"...Has anyone heard him sing..I have...he is a old carnatic singer...but nothing great than MDR, GNB, SVB , MS , MLV, TVN, TVC, ARI, etc...hey..I know his family bit closer..My grandpa and he...were close in terms of katchery and sabhaas...Personnally he is a women beater and wife accuser...sari...no personal life digging...yen solrenna..if you want to glorify IR by quoting some big personality...get some other example...please don't quote "Semmangudi"

  ARR gave one to IR but IR said privately that he renounced wearing gold but accepted the offer..
  
  Some..thirichufied the story and used to say that this was an insult to ARR and so ARR never talked high of IR...

  When one considers MGR as a great leader (not that there's anything wrong with it), I am not surprised when we differ on IR and ARR. My standards are very different. We belong to totally two different consumer segments.

  Mr.K, for ur kind info i'm a Mcdonalds-frequenter, i listen to bryan adams and nirvana,and i do work for a fortune-100 company......but i do care for the society and poor ppl. and i always pray to god for a leader who does good to ppl......that's y MGR.....i do belong to a literate segment of society but tend to praise good things even if they are not elite......
  
  i think i deviated too much from the topic.......i'm not a Hardcore IR fan but a moderate fan of his........my xpectations are songs with gud sound quality and xploration of new sound genres like trance,clubhouse etc.....
