Downloading songs from the Internet

Hi
Becasue of the recent VCD rentals and downloading the songs from the internet, the Tamil Film Industry has been and is suffering. Should we support VCDs and Downloading music from the internet? do You think it shouldd be banned?

  Ok, lets get back. When there was Minnale, Uyire, Jeans and those movies. Audio Cd was SGD $13.90 or even up to $15.00. Now look, Boys original cd cheapest u can get is $8.90 [alai osai arr mp3cd including boys i think is 8.00 only]. And the maximum is $10.00. What a healthy trend, people should start buying CDs like AE and such. I myself burnt KKS & PARASURAM> UK&ARASATCHI . U buy cds if u really like it.

  You guys are idiots peopple download music because when you listen to the radio you hear a song that you like and you want to buy it but buying the whole cd is not worth it because there is only a few songs on the whole cd that you would really listen to , so downloading should be legalized again!!

  I agree with "Crisina Barr" ... people will buy the cds if they really like the whole album. because mp3 quality is no where near audio cd. But If there is only one or 2 good songs in the whole cd no one will bother to buy it.. rather than buy it you can download it. I think its a good trend. because in those days, let it be cds or cassets If one album is good the other selection wont be good. nowadays its bit improving. If ppl keepon buying cds for 1 good song they will never put good combinations (last time i buy a Ayngaran cd combination AE and NEW).
  
  So my point is If the album and the combination is good, ppl will buy the cds aniway.

  I always used to buy DVD's. But what I finally found is that in whole neighborhood I was the only one who used to buy them. I used to spend $200 or more per year to watch the movies. All other Indians used to copy either from me or from others. That forced me think I was spending $200 unnecessarily. So though I dont copy, atleast I stopped spending the money. I dont want to watch movies on those cheap CAM prints. So I have to live with renting DVD's only...

  Yeah they made me realise already that I am spending too much.. Also Seeing fellow indians who never care to buy/rent a dvd but ready to borrow. I dont see costly cams. I watch movies only if audio/video is good. I verify them before renting..

  I think downloading one song from an artist (singer) is fine but if you download 3 or more than that is ripping them off and you should just buy the CD then when its been out for about two months or longer.
