With due respect to Raja's phenomenal talent,
I have to say that I have outgrown his music.
These days when I listen to his songs, though
I enjoy it, I never get the same pleasure what
I got say 10-15 years back, even when I listen
to his old songs.
BTW I am 34 yrs and I honestly think that by my
age most of us would be thinking beyond Raja's music.
Any comments ?

This is a pinching topic! I don't know what you
want to discuss. Do you want each one of us to
say whether we have outgrown Raja's music or not?
Let me assume that to be the case.
Folks: give only Yes or No
answers with some examples. Comments on
others' preferences are disallowed! :-))
My answer: No; I have not outgrown Raja's music.
He is still giving good ones. KM and KM are two
recent ones that I enjoyed very very much. From
recent reviews of NOV, I am looking forward to
listening to the songs of P and D.

I would abide by SKs rules.
Answer: No. I dont see how I can outgrow anybodys music. Either he produces something that appeals to me or he doesnt. I hvnt even "outgrown" songs like "Nila Nila Odi Va" yet.

Sir
Where are you living these days? I am in the US and often I do not feel like listening to Indian music that I used to listen when in India as associated memories are very strong. I don't think I can ever outgrow Indian film music in general and Raja's music in particular. However, when personal circumstances change, what was once cherished quickly becomes oblivious to us.

actually when i listen to IR 80's songs i couldn't help but to recall and get a short 'flashback' of my old memories.....to me listening to one particular music, make me to remember the happenings at that period of time....the happenings could be good or bad...if good then i do really like to hear the 'accompanying' again and again...if the other way round then...id do still listen but with a 'bad' feeling...and mood...

Hi ,
No, the law of diminishing marginal utility does not apply to music.
I am saying it from my personal experience.
After a music blast in a desi party- I came back to update new songs in my page.I add the song masi-masam - the score was just wonderfull. It was around 11:30pm , I switched on my keyboard played the song - asai theera and then I uploaded it. This does not apply to Raja's songs alone
if anyone doesnt belive it - visit my webpage and listen to Masi masam right now - you will belive it.

Outgrowing IR's Music.., No Sir!
I do listen to a wide spectrum of music,
but IR's Music is something that has a special
place in my heart.
Especially after listening to Kaliyoonjal, Guru
and YM , I am thirsting for more!
