  Konjum puraavey nenjodu nenjam, is a nice melody number and my favourite.
  
  Aadum arutjothi, a duet song sung along with Seeyazhi Govindarajan for Padminis dance in Kalaikoil is also a super classical number.

  aadum arutjOthi is from meenda sorgam. BTW, HMV has just come out with a 5 cd/tape collection of MLV's songs (film, devotional, carnatic etc). The 1st album has only film songs - several duets with MKT bhagavathar (film - rajamukthi), and others (konju mozhi maindhargaLE...) and of course, solos.

  kik,g vidya: there are 2 versions of "neela vanna". One is by R Balasaraswathy, as Kik said, from

  But the song g vidya wanted is definitely from Malliga and by P Susheela. Even the other line quoted is in this same song. (Its tune is same as some Hindi song, but I cannot identify.)
  
  Malliga (1957)-Neela vanna Kannane unnathu yennam ellaam naan ariven, Kanna en kaiyai thodaathe. Mohana Kanna en kaiyai thodaathe-PSusheela-3 09.
  
  Sorry, I don't know about the actors in Malliga. Its MD: was T.R.Pappa, and there a couple of great songs by AMR,PS. See

  There is a dearth of commentaries on ancient Kannada, Telugu and Tamil Keertanas. Hope I find time to do research on them and write bring out something on them some day. I am collecting lots of material and going thru all of 'em in my free time. Any help in this regard is welcome.
