Pa Vijay's Lyrics

I heard he's a very successful lyricist in recent times. But after listening to a few of his compositions, I have serious doubts about his abilities. One song I heard recently goes like this:

Anaarkali Anaarkali
Aagaayam nee... boologam nee...

Ulagathiley migapperum poovum neeyadi
nadhigaliley chinnanjiru nadhiyum neeyadi

...

I'm sure someone who's called a lyricist can come up with something better than that.

I'd love to see people's opinion on this lyricist.

  If you didnt consider the above lines as lyrics and Pa Vijay as a Lyricist, how about these??

  I wonder if VM ghost writes as Pa.Vijay! Anyone who has seen PV in person please attest to his existance. I've had this doubt since reading about VM working with Deva for the VettRikkodi song, "kaRuppudhaan enakku pudicha coloru". I remember reading Pa.Vijay given as the lyricist for the completed song. Also, PV uses VM's cliches all the time, "Paarthu paarthu kangal poothirundhaen" uses "ulagil peN varggam nooru koadiyaam" a routine VM factoid. I have other instances where I've fallen for PV as VM.

  Mahes, I agree with you... the lyrics you pointed out fall in the same category, I listed Pa Vijay's lyrics in.
  
  Are these just few instances - or is the over-all quality of new Tamil song lyrics just going down the trash?

  Pa.Vijay is one new vibrant lyricist, needs to be encouraged.. Same with Thaamarai..

  Yah know.. I dont have anything against that guy... but I didnt like that "nadhigaliley chinnanjiru nadhiyum neeyadi" <--- why "chinna" nadi????? why not periya nadi???
  
  And... "paal pola pathinaril" ... why pathinaru..? does that mean all ages of guys want a girlfriend 16 years of age...?

  Thamarai, at least in my opinion, is much more creative than Pa. Vijay.
  
  All her songs in the movie "Kaakha Kaakha" were well penned and were creative.
