  i bought the jeans cassette (interestingly placed in a jeans pouch) y'day and listened to the much acclaimed song by Nithyasree. frankly i was disappointed. perhaps it was the hype that was built that created very high expectations.
  
  my initial feelings on hearing the song:
  a)the voice seemed straight without any modulations that we accustomed to in tfm.
  b)the ucharippu was clear but could have had more emotion
  c)the orchestration did not lend itself to the song as desired. it was like the old movies where the main track and the comedy track use to run parallel for a long duration
  
  i would certainly like to hear from others on the song per se

  This is the first time I am into tfm.I don't feel so.The background thavil is similar to "Singaravelanae deva" of S.Janaki.This song is a little mordern version of that.The song has a beautiful blend of aabari and it is not a duet for
  it have a lot of emotion.It serves well the purpose of a dance sequence and is picturised very differently.But,The songs beauty is not well expressed out in the song.

  the most disappointing thing about ARR's carnatic numbers is i feel that they are unnecessarily thrust into an album just to please the elders among the audience or perhaps ARR is trying to prove a point that he can score in carnatic music as well.
  
  ennavale looked like a joke in kaadhalan and it seems the picturisation of 'kannodu' is also a joke.why unncessarily trouble jeyashree,nithyashree etc. for these type of songs.their voices don't even suit that of aishwarya rai.
  
  these songs look totally out of place and should not have been scored at all for these types of masaala films.
  
  crap songs like 'columbus columbus' would have been enough for a bull$--- movie like jeans.
  
  iam very happy that jeans flopped.I hope all of his big budget films flop!
