  the mother of all competition songs is in Vanjikottai vaalibhan picturised on Vyjayanthimala & padmini."the sabaash sariyaana potti one.

  Another song is Vendriduven unnai vendriduven, a competition between Agathiyar & Raavanan, sung ably by Sirgazhi & TMS.
  
  Chinnanchiriya vanna paravai was a song competition between TMS and SJ, whilst Singaara Velane theva was between SH and the naathaswaram. :)
  
  In Pakiaraj's Vidiyum Varai Kaathiru, there is a song featuring a competition between two sisters, one dancing and one singing.
  
  In recent times, Padayappa vs. Neelambari's Minsaaraa poove penn poove comes to mind.
  
  Even Deva has his share. :)
  In Kalloori Vaasal there will be a dance competion where the Super hittu super paattu will be sung.

  Veenai Kodi udaya Vendhane from "Sampoorna ramayanam" also not a potti paadal. It was to demonstrate/boast the music skills of Ravana.

  veng.. sorry boss I missed to note that... but in other two cases, i just brought out that it was not competition song, thats it..
  
  One song from Baagdhat Perazhagi (Ravchandran and Jayalalitha).. sung by SPB + SJ... "Navabukkoru keLvi.." Music by GKV was superb song... One of the lines is "AkkaaLai oruvanum Appaavai oruthiyum thirumaNam seivadhu saridhaana"... "Ak-KaLai oruvanum .. Ap-Paavai oruthiyum azhagai thirumaNam seiyyalaame..." superb lines (by Kannadasan ?)

  The movie "Taalathu" with Arvindsamy and Suganya,
  music by IR (I think ?)
  has a song that goes:
  
  "ennodu poti ittu jeyithavar yaarum illai"
  
  in that song the entire family is singing and dancing and I think Poornam Vishwanathan and Suganya tease each other through their song,
