MSV did music for about 1700 films?

I read recently in papers and magazines which told that MSV did music for more than 1700 films and more than 300 non-film albums (devotional album, etc.).

But I doubt about the total number albums.
After IR came, there was no market to him. After 1980, he did only less than 100 films. I don't know that when his first film was released. But it should be greater than 1950.

In 30 years he did 1600 films?
Therefore, averagely he have done 63 films in one year. I can't believe this.

IR did 48 movies in tamil in 1985. I have read in magazines that this was a record.

Any MSV fans confirm the total number of movies music done by MSV.

Anybody can list the name, year of movies order by language?

PS : IR crosses only 800 movies in his 25 years.

  I don't even think he touched 1000. Not to belittle MSV. I am a fan of him too. Those days the frequency of movies are not as many as it is today.
  
  So I think it is not true. People confuse with some wrong statistics

  1700 is an unrelaistic number, even 1000. The count should be nearning 600. That is the most relaistic number. His first movie jenova was released in 1952, I guess. 1000 is myth and 600 is realistic.

  Hello once upon a time there were only one Music Director was rulling the filmdom, that is MSV- from 1950 to till date he was scoring more than 2000 films. I came to know from 'Pesum Padam' early 70s and late 60s he was scored 73 movies per year. I am sure he must honoured with guniess book of world records ok fans

  even accounting 73 per year from 66-75, which is 730 (though it is highly unlikely that even that many got produced), still there's a large gap to reach 2000. The post-75 era is well documented and MSV hasn't scored even an average of 10 if we count till now, which is hardly 300, though it's very much on the higher side considering his # of scores after 1995 is virtually nil.
