Hi folks:
Here is the URL for the latest interview
by Gangai Amaran conducted by Indiadirect people.
http://www.indiadirect.com/audio/index.html
It is an interesting interview, and among various
things, he reveals that he was the one who
penned the song 'Mannil Indha Kaadhal andri'

Srinath, agreed we will let this one go, because I seriously saw no malice in GA's statements (Didn't they all collaborate recently in "Poonjolai" a family picture?), you and I have very different takes on it, Amen.
I don't think deifying a human is a matter of lacking eloquence, but I will leave that point alone too. I have never felt above another DFer, so I am not a superior to FORGIVE somebody, I'm just another DFer, a peer. But this being a written public forum where words are taken at face value, when a human is referred to as infallible, as a God; when a praise-IR-or-shut-up attitude prevails, then maybe muckrakers like Srikanth are necessary to just balance the scales. It is scary to imagine this public forum (allegedly about all TFM)resembling a monotheist cult.

Guys,
Since my name is used here I like to talk few words.
Srinath: I never considered my music knowledge as great achievement. I have never misused it. There is no need for me sit 4-5 hours on the computer to sequence Ilamai enum ponkatru ,
I just had one intention - every one should enjoy Tamil music - lack of knowledge should never block anyone from enjoying the great works - I should share what ever I know.
Tamil music is very big ocean - it not just one mans achievement - there are many unheard musicians who had work hard in the past.
So If you have any intention that I am mis-using my so called Technical knowledge - (which is a just a drop of water that falls from your finger after dip you finger into the ocean called music), I am not the person
whom you think. - It is up to you to believe it or not!,
Our good friend Udhaya has been posting good things and he has always been on the neutral side. there is not doubt about it.
Srikanth

Srinath, Srikanth: All of you had shown interest in my idea of sponsoring an IR album. I haven't seen any responses from you there of late. But I frequently see your responses here. Hence I am forced to write this here. You people have good musical knowledge which will be an asset in our project.
So I implore you to participate more actively in it. PLEASE DO SO.
Srikanth, I'd like to know whether you talked to KR.

Nice to read heated posts in DF. I was offline for a week. I remember during my college days, GA conducted a music show at the Univ. Auditorium (my college being pudhu kalooori). It was all going on well, just after half-time, due to student election rivalry, soda bottles were hurled into the stage, and GA & troup was sent packing, utter chaos with the orchestra running off the stage. GA had come to Stamford sometime back - one or two yrs ago, I missed the concert, instead attended a carnatic classic concert by Sudha Raghunathan - it was really enjoyable.
digressionnukku mannikavum.

One of the nicest interviews of Gangai Amaran. He is just one of the most important figures in the Tamil film landscape. His association with MGR, SPB, Jesudas is very interesting to note. He seems to have any normal brother-brother relationship with Isaignani. He fights like any good brother does. Very touching sentiments from Gangai Amaran. He is very appreciative of ARR and just spoke exactly many of us about changes in our cultural values in the last five years. He says there is a big transition in values in the last five years and noise will give way back to music soon. He talks about the spontaniety that is missing in today's actors and actresses. It is very surprising to note that IR is married to his Akka's daughter. Likewise GA and SPB etc were in London when they were very young and jobless visiting.
