How come no one is blaming Michael Jackson for GVs death?
I believe it is he who pushed GV to this decision.
May the monkey raising-boy loving-colour changing-crotch grabbing-baby dangling-freak show burh in hell for this.

b4 anyone else points the finger to any other person, try to ask this question to urself - "Did MJ, Ajith, Vijay come and ROB GV ?"..... GV was the one with the money..... he wanted to make more money by betting on these WINNING horses.... and of course, when u go "behind" someone, they are going to ask "MORE"..... so stop blaming others.....
don't get me wrong.... loss of GV is a big loss to the "Producer" world, and for TF.....
i hope the producer's now atleast think twice/thrice b4 giving (increasing) the pay for an actor/actoress, after one movie clicks....

Sabesan,
Your point is correct in the case of Vijay et al. But MJs case is different.
He agreed to do a concert and then pulled out in the last minute. It is not like he did the concert but GV could not sell tickets - which is the case with Vijay and Tamilan.
In the end, MJ had better lawyers so he won the case.
I still say the peter pan wanna be should burn in hell for this

I had met GV couple of times. He used to very introverted even then (1990 or so, before Dalapathi release time) Introverted people don't communicate their problems at all. Perhaps, some innate pride or stubborness caused this tragic endin. Again, i think GV meant to wake up the Tamil film industry rather die in the hands of these moneylenders and be just another story in the papers, he must have felt suicide would wake up the industry that he loved to death. God Bless this man's soul. He is definitely a courageous man who showed his love for his work and did not compromise at all(it is like love stories of olden days, boy meets girl, girl says no, girl gets kidnapped, boy saves, still girl says no, so boy commits suicide.... pure love that is the point.)

MJ,
do u have proof for anything that you are saying ?
did you see the written agreement between GV & MJ?
when every guy who can talk to a lawyer is suing MJ in US courts.. why didnt GV do it.
On top of all this do you *know* gv commited suicide because of fallout of the MJ concert

Bharath, it is rumored it started with MJ problem. avaney tholay uruchi veyililey kaaya pottukanam ;--) tht will bring MJ to his roots.
as far as I am concerned, Tamilnadu has lot a fine public figure who produced pathbreaking films, tried to revive the failing industry and also found Suhasini a husband, that too his own brother - what more sacrifices can one person do in one lifetime.
GV went to revive the film industry by even keeping his life as security deposit. I only see him as a visionary, a rare situation in the Indian film scenario. His final 3 films - Thamizhan, then Aey Nee Romba Aznaka Iruken (maybe tribute to his wife) then SOKKA THANGAM, what more can you say about this gentleman?
(bythey is Kum_Laden now calling himslef mahatma? pudi saar avarey)

Film producer G.V committed suicide today and it's sad that such an entrepresing man had to meet a tragic end. He is better known as the brother of ace director Manirathnam and produced many of his hit movies like Roja and Thalapathi. About six months ago, I had a chance to meet him in person for over two hours as part of the "Meet the Business Press". G.V was a chain smoker and his smoking habits somehow revealed the financial burden that he was reeling under. His latest movies had bombed in the box office. Inspite of all his problems, he spoke quite eloqently about the status of the film industry and even frankly revealed some untold insider information as well.
One reason for his suicide could be attributed to Michael Jackson. G.V had been the main organiser of the much hyped MJ's show in India and was severely hurt financially when MJ cancelled the tour because of child abuse allegations. In addition to this loss, he lost even more tyring to sue MJ.That's when his downslide started. He burnt his hands bad when he bought the Internet rights for over 2000 movies to be broadcast to Indians globall over the Net..but sadly broadband didn't take off as expected.
But you gotto to hand it to him for bringing some semblance of professionalism to film production. His company was the first film production firm in India to go public. One of the guys I admired is now gone.

why dont you say the same thing about the directors( not MR but the more recent ones) who made such bad movies for GV that it flopped.
tamizhan & ei nee romba azhaga irukke were bad movies.
should we kill the directors for that??
GV bet on MJ horse. avan athirshtam... MJ was pulled into this child allegation thing in 1993 and consequently cancelled all the tours.
if GV really had a contract ..he wud have won the case.. after seeing so many 'poli' cases against MJ.. with all due respect to GV .. i wont belive it until its proved in court.
why didnt u all say this 10 days b4. what happened between MJ & GV was the same 10 days b4.. appo vittutu ippo vanthu avan thaan kolaikaaran etc..
In business u win a few lose a few.. GV lost more than he won..
first of all i dont believe anyone wud commit suicide by hanging on veshti from fan. dont tell me GV did not even have money to buy poison.
with so li'l info released to public domain.. its impossible to make judgements..
GV is dead.. he commited suicide mourn that instead of pointing fingers..

Bharath - I don't think GV "planned" to commit suicide..... it would have been a "that second" decision.... too much kadaan tholaaai.... wife, kids not around to talk this out.... and a call comes continuously threatening him of money, etc etc.... he was probably in the verge..... and the call pushed him to the worst decision.... in that situation, veshti or whatever that helped him get relieved of all this pains....

and yes, iam with you on "finger pointing" stuff.... GV was a business man.... he took some decisions which did not go well.... it was "HE" who took the decision.... no one forced him.... as a business man, he should have been a little more careful when dealing with guys like MJ.... strict contracts etc etc....
as some one said in this thread, "there are many who take this decision.... GV, being a prominent figure, this has become a BIG NEWS".....

Dont blame the actors for GV suicide...He is the one who started the trend to pay huge money to heroes and it back fired now..I remember him paying big money to rajini, kamal, prabhu etc at the time when they are actually getting paid less from other producers..

Yah.In that moment he was alone. It made him to decide sucide. If some of the family members or friends were around it could have been avoided.Any way now every one has to realize others problem especially actors. After paid more money if the movie is flop they should cooperete with the producers. If they say that they are not resposible for that in futre there won't be ay producer to make the movie. Then all the actors has to make the movie with their own. Then after flop they also has to do sucide.

Neenga MJ voda ko.pa.se vaa?

I still say he should be burned at a stake. If not for killing GV, then for molesting all those kids.

This suicide is unusual. much more than what meets the eye. something not right about it. when somebody is going down a sensible educated man will only stop it from hitting the bottom. it might be blackmail more than threat. even a coward will challenge a threat or atleast hide, but blackmail or shame is difficult to handle - becaue it can trouble entire family also. GV got into some big trouble other than debts or potential to trouble his family beyond limits. some deep mystery and the stakes were very high. Madurai is also another link in this problem. Kamal has to hold pooja for Sandiyar in Maduirai, the power center has moved to Madurai and is sinister.

Conspiracy theories aside, how do we know for sure that it was a suicide? Was a post-mortem done?

bb, upto date, there is really no theory that suggests that anyone wanted GV to be out of the way..... so i dont think it would be murder....
- From: bb (@ 12.234.176.52)
on: Fri May 9 00:16:20 EDT 2003
sabesan, theory or not, isn't it a standard procedure (that is not enforced if enough bribes are given)? May be some clue could have been got from a post-mortem.
- From: sabesan (@ 68.19.18.135)
on: Fri May 9 06:24:58 EDT 2003
oh - i think they did..... cause, i remember seeing a photo of GV being taken in a stretcher kind of thing, and the caption below said "GV being taken for post-mortem"..... well,

No confusion.Just 30 min before he has in formed to his PA that I am coming there we will go to bank. After 30 min his PA tried to contact GV and couldn't do.
Immediately he went to his house then he found GV hanging on the fan.In the mean time GV didn't go anywhere out.
Within that small time no one can do murder him in such a way in the prsence of all the workers in his house.

Insider,
so murderer had a great alibi a la OJ Simpson.
But that does not mean he was not murdered. Read the Kumudam article on GV. I say it smells fishy

postmortemkku edhavadhu value irukkudha namba oorla? When that old actress Sobha died too they performed postmortem, but I think no one had the guts to tell what really happened. anyhow...

" :) " - even in US PostMortem does not have any value.... did u watch the movie JFK ? in that when they bring the body of JFK for postmortem, the so called "agents" will come and take away the body immediately..... iam not saying that its "ok" - but just don't blame India alone :)
