  well, the movie flopped just bcoz of Rajini, nothing else.
  Rajini is too old to do young man role.
  Even the make up made him look horrible.
  Also he should'nt had handled the screenplay.

  in indian filmy history...i have never read a review saying...that the movie flopped coz of music!...
  well there are reviews saying the "Music or the BGM doesn't go well with such a good movie", or "even the Music & BGM can't help"...
  never seen a review with "the movie is good, but bad songs and BGM will make it flop!"

  Have you watched Baba? Poor background score in Baba?!! There was nuthing wrong with the BGM!!
  
  The story just did not have what people look for in Rajni films...ppl go to see some action and got to see Rajni doing some meditation in Swiss Alps...thevaiya?! :-)

  Just mediocre songs and BGM cannot make a film flop....that too a Rajni film!!

  Friends, just think, God's grace is abundant and HE gives us all so much and how much we waste in mundane things instead of using it for our spiritual upliftment?!
  
  It is so true and that's what happens to our hero also.
  
  By the time he realizes[here, he is made to realize by his uncle who is fed up with him by this time!] he is left with only a few and uses them in good deeds .
  
  And, he now understands the secret of happiness which is within you and in what you do selflessly.
  
  And, Baba promises him that whatever he chooses, whether to do it alone in himalayas or in the midst of people, as long as it is for your spiritual progress, He will guide him fully.[remember the message-tftd- Sridhar sent to us last week which said the same thing?].
  
  And now, he returns to the masses who need him.
  
  Folks, this is totally a different movie .
  
  If you go looking for Rajni's usual gimmicks, you'll be dissappointed.
  
  If you watch this movie as you do with any other regular Tamil movie , then again, you'll be dissappointed.
  
  People who follow a spiritual path and DO BELIEVE in that path ,.......... not for their personal favors, money, position, etc, but for real grace .............. will be able to appreciate what Rajni is trying to convey.
  
  If you are one of those majority who believe that movie is not a media to say these things and a movie should only be a form of entertainment, then this is definitely not your type of movie.
  
  An artist conveys thru his art; a painter by his painting; a poet by his lyrics; a sculptor by his sculptures and so on and on.
  
  Rajni is an actor.
  
  He found out a truth.[or so he thought.]
  
  He wanted to share it with his people.
  
  He only had this media of reaching out.
  
  That too, at the fag end of his carreer.
  
  minji minji pOnaa, yinnum rendu moonu padam panninaa jaasthi.
  
  yellaatthukkum sErtthu oru padtthile soliyirukkaaru
  
  And he did a fairly satisfactory job in doing so without much compromising.
  
  I do not speak for Rajni nor try to promote this movie.
  
  It is already a flop in TN.
  
  This writing is not going to change that outcome.
  
  As he tried his media of communication I am trying to reach out to my own people of what I feel and think of this movie.
  
  I only appeal to you to see this movie from this viewpoint and let me know if you agree with me or not.
  
  That's all !
  
  As I said yesterday at the Study circle, "Faith starts when logic stops".

  Lots of crap movies become hits, but Baba was in a special class of crap. Rajini takes 4 year break and thinks audiences were going to flock to the same types of movies. Well, they moved onto other actors. People don't want to see meditation and mantras in a Rajini movie. They just want to see him kick some butt.

  I think Paran and C~P are right. Music is only a catalyst. Even if you think the music was not to your liking, you cannot claim it as a factor of the movie's failure. Besides, very few people are impressed by good background scores. Majority of the population cares a damn.
