Please cater to this thread and the ones which I intend to start (if you agree) in the same lines for PS singing for different heroines separately. This is just for you to casually throw a line or two whenever you remember or feel like when you hit this...thanks.
Do try to make it sound like in Vividha Bharathi giving complete details such as movie's name, music, lyricist and ofcourse, you know the singer!

Karthi,
I know there is a PBS version of the song 'thoL kandaen thoLae kandaen' in the film 'Idhaya Kamalam'. Is there a PS version of the same song?
My mother used to tell me that PS' voice suits KRV more than any other heroine. It of course suits all the yesteryear heroines, but I too feel that when singing for KRV, PS voice is more sweeter.

I think '40 vayasil nai gunam' song is from the film "Bhaaratha Vilas" stg : "Shivaji" Ganesan, K.R.Vijaya, Sivakumar etc.

The latest song (I am not sure, though) that PS sang for KRV is from the film "Pengal Veettin Kangal". The song goes like this, "pengal veettin kangal andha kangal kalanguma" (MD : SG, Dir : Visu Lyricist : Vali or VM).
Is the "isaiarasi" song in "Thaai Mookambikai" sung by PS for KRV? I think SJ and VJ also sang the same song along with PS? For which actresses did they sing for?

Hi,
Talking about P Susheela singiing for Kr Vijaya reminds me of one of my most cherished moments...
When I met PS in '86 at a wedding in Madras, (I was 15 years old then), I didn't know what to say. She was quitely sitting there and I approached her and introduced myself as her fan. She asked me about my favourite song and I couldn't pin-point ONE. Instead, I started listing almost a dozen songs in one breath starting with 'Azhagan Muruganidam Aasai Vaithen' and ending with 'Thamizhukkum Amudhendu Per'(both from the film 'Panjavarnakkili', starring KR Vijaya and Muthuraman, I think). And she burst out laughing!
She was sweet enough to sing a couple of lines from 'Amudhe Thamizhe' (an IR number). It is one of my most memorable moments! God, all this was happening at a quiet corner in a Kalyana Mandapam. My cousins (much elder to me)later chided me about my 'guts' to ask her for a song!

In Thaai Moogambigai the song "Isaiarasi"was sung by PS for KRV, SJ for Sarita and S Rajeswari for Manorama. This was a tribute by IR to PS.
KRV's first film Karpagam has only one playback singer singing all the songs and that is PS.

SM,
PS sang the song "Maalai pozhudhin...." for Sowcar Janaki in the film Bhagyalakshmi. Incidentally PS sang this song on Republic Day performance at Chennai.
