Who is this Harris Jeyaraj?
Apart from being a keyboard player for ARR, what is his history?
He wasnt in the news until he came up with this album of Minnale, which defly deserves a mention.
Dhina who was in news quite sometime is no more to be found. HJ came in limelight with his first mega release, which my friend in Chennai says has become a hit overnight. Post news links to HJ here.

  I NEVER asked anyone to give ATTENTION TO ME. It is you two (MAHABS, GETLOSTMAN) who are pointing the arrow at me.

  Is Harris Jeyaraj really as talented as the youngsters in Tamil Nadu make him out to be? In my opinion, he just "cuts" bits and pieces out A.R.Rahman's work and then "pastes" them together to give music. Okay, the final product isn't too bad, but his style is too similar to A.R.Rahman's for him to be regarded as a "great" and "new" talent.
  If anyone had any doubt about marketing being more powerful than talent today, well, just look how successful Harris Jeyaraj has become.

  Why not we all look at it like this...Maniratnam cannot afford to undertake a lot of commercial movies and risk being branded as a run-of-the-mill director..so he gets his assistants or directors influenced by him (Vasanth) to direct films which he normally would avoid....
  
  the same goes for ARR...his assistants can undertake commercial projects and still provide the quality that he has been providing...

  HJ is the true picture of quality marketing. I think that the obsession of HJ that has taken over India truly shows that the marketers believe that the audience are idiots. They have convinced the youth to buy this poor quality music that shows no originality or uniquness and I find that to be disturbing.HJ is not going to last long in this industry because like it has been mentioned in many other threads, there is only one ARR. It has been mentioned that YSR or KR cannot be the new ARR but at least they have more of a chance than HJ.

  I've known HJ for a number of years now. Personally, he is dedicated to his work and never bad mouths other musicians which is what I appreciate in him. He is not a genius but sure is creative. This industry thrives on success not hype. If he is good, there is no doubt that he will last a good long time in the industry.

  It is sad that people comment on a Musician. I dont know how many of them have made it big, in their own homes! I bet ones personal liking can never be the same as another. ARR, HJ, Karthick Raja, they know their music!! We know are liking!!

  HJ is not only a good programmer, perfomer on the Keyboards but a brilliant guitarist!!
  Yes! a grader in western classical.
  A God fearing guy. A charitable person. Just like his good friend ARR. Even Karthick and Yuvan are good friends of his. His dad used to play for Shanker-Ganesh and other Music directors

  I think HJ is very creative musician. The reason why these people trying to put down HJ is that they are scared to see HJ become number 1. They always want ARR to be there but of course no star shines forever so HJ is the newborn star he will glow more than any others for sometime.

  hi all, just listened to HJ's Ullam Ketkumma (Pepsi)..i'm totally dissapointed with HJ..the songs are just average..i bought the cassette and heard only once...i gave the cassette away..
  
  ARR & YSR are much much ahead from HJ..ARR's Boys
  and YSR's Kurumbu are 100 times better than this crap album..
  
  HJ's music is nothing worth mentioning in this album, except for the lyrics..especially Mazhai Mazhai song..
  
  i would recommend you to hear it online or download the mp3...don't waste your money buying the cassette/CD..

  hai dudes,u all know who is the real sensation but u dont want to admit.I fell very sorry for u, even then it is clear by the sales and kind of bussiness harris has shows that he is the only demanding MD today.
  Check the cassette sales and box office collections.on both the cases HJ films r topping the charts.according to film distributors and producers they strongly believe that reason for the hits of SAAMI and KAAKHA KAAKHA is due to music.adding to this no other MD has done fabulous Backround scores for all his movies.

  yup, i definitely agree with the comments on Ullam Ketkumae,
  but some songs of Hj are truly genuine, for example the guitar feat for ondre rendu asaigal.. in kaaka-kaaka.
  Not to forget the one in thoothe varuma from the same movie.
  There doesn't seem to be an imitation froom ARR tunes..

  Harris Jeyaraj - New Tamil music trend setter
  
  The new arrival Harris Jeyaraj's recent hits really imressive. Like ARR he follows his feet doing trend setting. There is nothing wrong either its called mere copy or following. The world and people all the time just following or copying always from previous. So HJ is not alone exceptional.
  
  He really shows up his plans how he slowly breaking ARR's bastion. His musics are brilliant and like ARR's its all later block busters. Like ARR's he setting trend. Like IR, ARR done that. Like MSV, ARR done that. So trend setters always continue. I would appreciate HR for his musical score.
