  Let me add some telugu films. Directors like Vamsy, K Viswanath, A Kondandarami reddy extracted great pieces of BGM from him..

  Salangai Oli and Mouna Raagam are the two BEST BGMS right from start to end in TFM history.
  All the Bharathi Raja works had excellent BGM.
  Kadalorakavidaigal is a good one. Fazil movies also had wonderful BGMs. Nowadays all the movies are crap. Do we see movies like Mouna Raagam, Anjali, Keladi Kanmani, Poove Poochoodava, Mudhal Mariyadhai, Sindhu Bhairavi, Sippikkul Muthu, Varusham 16, Naan Padum Paadal. Even Ordinary movies had decent plot in 80s and before. Nowadays unrealistic craps with sodappal actors like prasanth, vijay, ajith, surya(god i hate him). Moonjile oru expressionum illama. Example
  
  123, Tamizhan( avan avanukku chief ministernu nenappu), red, nandha, daya,... etc.. Acting is bad, BGM is bad, screen play is bad, story is bad.. Bharathi Raja has disappeared into woods.
  He repeated attempts to project his son as future hero fails again and again. His awards don't mean anything. Balachander is another disappointment. How long he is going survive with his "pre marital affair" "extra marital affair" based stories. Manirathnam string of successes came to a halt after bombay. In the 90s his only two successful movies were Roja and Bombay. Rest were craps with unforgivable background music. SPB is a great singer. Can any professional actor match his acting? Radika, Lakshmi, Revathi, Radha were all talented actresses. Nowadays not even a single heroine speaks with their own voice. Our vijayakanth, with his "kaama veri" has vowed to act with all the young heriones in india atleast in one movie, shamita shetty, sakshi, isha gopikar, simran, so many new actresses. His movies should be avoided at all costs.
