Different tunes
THE LONG delayed Vijay-Simran starrer "Udaya" which was under production for nearly three years is likely to be released this May. The highlight of this film is the coming together of A. R. Rahman's music, which is blended with Vijay's Travolta type dancing. HMV at a sneak peek unveiled the music of the film, which is pure vintage Rahman.
Rahman does it every time. Just when doubts have been raised about the popularity of his music in Tamil, he springs another surprise. Those who are fans of Rahman's fast-track music will go crazy when they hear the gana-number "Thiruvelekeni Rani... ", a peppy song sung by "Chaiyya Chaiyyya... " fame Sukhwinder Singh and our own Karthik. Said Producer `Pyramid' Natarajan who is also now a leading character artist: "The music of `Udaya' is mind-blowing. Rahman has taken great pains to compose all the five numbers, which include some great melodies like the music of my earlier films `Sangamam' and `Rhythm'."
Natarajan and HMV are hoping that the maestro himself will premiere the foot-tapping "Thiruvelekeni Rani... " at his `Unity Of Light' show in Chennai on February 21.

music lover, maybe you were born yesterday, but Tamil music has been there long before IR.
However, it was IR who introduced saavumolam.

Hello...ambleen...
that is what u call a master-minded marketing...
u grab the IR fans by producing somethign similar at first...then "pull" then to ur own style...just like what ARR did...
that is not something stupid..but..u might need something that u urself don't have it...a BRAIN....
- From: curses (@ 219.65.109.81)
on: Tue Feb 25 01:11:05 EST 2003
I still doubt if Roja was in the IR mould..
Chinna Chinna Aasai.. perhaps.
but the rest of the songs?? hmmm..
At least ARR has created an own style for himself.
Not like a certain MD from the ARR troupe who used ARR style (cleverly i must admit) to woo directors but is very adament about breaking away to create his own style!
neway.. IR's still respected in this industry and it's time he made a few films under big banners, there's no better way to get noticed.

on: Tue Feb 25 02:10:43 EST 2003
Don't make me laugh by saying that ARR followed IR's style. IR has no clue on how to make music. He just uses people like ambleen to spread propaganda.
In fact, IR used many people, including ARR, and claimed credit all for himself. Shameless fellow.
Just like his shameless fans like ambleen.
