I have downloaded a few songs from various sites - including coolgoose. I need some help though. ".BIN" format , I believe, these are formats of one CDRWIN software. Of course, they are MP3 songs -- But I need them in .WAV format to be played in my home CD box (doesn't playe MP3). First, I need to convert these ".BIN"s to MP3s - and then convert the MP3s to WAVs into CD Audio using my CD-RW drive in my PC.
Apparently, it should be easy, but I may be missing some simple technicality here..
Any help, with step instructions and associated software is very much appreciated.

// To answer your queries, my files are larger than yours :(- //
that's interesting...what is the size of "chinna pura ondru" you have?? the one i downloaded (from the link you posted) ends with the ID3 tag which says "Chinna Puraa Ondru", "SP Bala", "Best of SP Bala", "AjRaj" etc etc...does your file have any of these words - if not at the end then anywhere else??

i am assuming this is the "size on disk" when you right click on the file and see properties...if it is then the file size looks right...are you still unable to play this if you rename it with a mp3 extension ??

Yes, that is the "size on disk" when you right click on the file and see properties.
I am doing the rename and doing the AudiCD just now. Will get back by t'row.
Thanks for the repeated follow-ups. Appreciate it.

Madrasguy,
I downloaded the chithira chevvanam just now...my browser showed that as MP3 while downloading and saved as such (i.e with the file extension of MP3)....where is this `BIN' issue? (BTW mine is a Win2K workstation with IE6)

I downloaded the afore-mentioned files and they were all mp3 files.
Having said that, I can make only one suggestion. Try using ISObuster (www.isobuster.com) to extract your bin files.

If it still doesnt work..

I dont know , when I download it - it downloads as a BIN files. I use Opera as browser :(-
That apart, Thops, thanks, it worked. Changing filenames to MP3 - but I had to do it thru MS-DOS as it didn't allow me to thru WinExplorer. Thanks for working thru this.
Howver, I use Ashampoo MP3 Audio Mgr software to recrd MP3s to WAVs -- quality is not so good after the first 3 songs - I believe cache,RAM mangement could be one issue. Any software you would suggest which writes a batch of 15 songs succesfully with Quality ?

Why do you need to convert mp3s to wav?? almost all CD burning software can burn mp3s to an audio CD...they automatically do this conversion on the fly...what CD burning software do you use ??

I have CDex & Ashampooo MP3 Audi Mgr which I use to write to Audio CD - as you said, it creates AudioCD from MP3 directly. It does good only for 2/3 songs.
Is there somethign you can suggest ?

i am assuming the limitation is because Ashampoo is shareware...though i have never had to use them, i think latest versions of WMP & RealONE player have CD burning capabilities...
otherwise there are quite a few fully functioning 30 day versions - dbpoweramp is one such...that gives you days to find out how get software without paying for it :-))...
