Thanks bb for the link page..Can I read the entire thread?
This song is one of ARR best spoiled by some awful picturisation..I think Author Wilson thought that he is a still photographer and asked the hero and heroien to just stand near beautiful hubli sculpture...His technique was quite easy..First take a close up and then a long shot..The whole song was like that...
When I heard that song first time..I formed by own imagination about the possible picturisation because the music has so much of scope for that....This man AW killed it...an AWsome cinematography.

>>>AWsome cinematography.

Its very rare to find openings like this.
Using kuRunthokai here has made a lot of people wonder where are these phrases from. Many (including me) really struggled to understand its meaning and went searching for. Searching for meaning of my own language written hundreds of years back. Kudos to ARR and VM for having made this awakening.

Its too many..so make it thousands of years back.
I feel when Thriukkural is some 2000 years old as of 1991, then this one should be atleast 2002 or more year old by now.
But Thirukkural was again 2000 year old when my father studied it in 1953.
Okay..what's the age of Thirukkural?

My favorite part of the song is:
"oru kannam thandhen munne, maru kannam thandhai pennae... yesu naadhar kaatru vandhu veesiyadho" :-)

well...shwetha..i like that particular part too...
and the other craetive part will be the music...
a surrounding effect in the middle of the song..rite after...these lines
*************
paniyo...paniyin tulliyo...un uthathil yenna...
paniyo...theno...nee suvaithal yenna....
*************
and come the perfect rendering by MAestro ARR

Paran:
The correct lyrics for that part is like this
Paniyo...paniyin thuliyo...un edhazh mel enna.
kaniyo..theno...nee suvaiththaal enna
Then that beat follow..wow mesmerising song....
Wonder what made AW to picturise that song like that...Or is that the dumb director.?

I would rate that as one of ARR's best album. It had every thing. Melody, pop and also the slow number with less indtruments in the title track.
When ever I talk to any of my friend about ARR, I recomend this album very much. Infact I am in love with this album.
SPB at his best.
Did you also notice the instrumentations in the "Thirakkadha " song. The song is apt for the location in which it was shot.
The sounds in the song resembles the free and turbulant flow of water in the forest.

another very nice thing in the song is when theendai starts konjam off-beat after the first stanza. Brilliant aa irukkum. Great singing by chitra and spb
