Vote for the best Tamil Album

For the last two years there has been a surge in the number of Tamil POP albums. Here is the list of what I came across(in alphabetical order). Go ahead and vote for the best. Also send your nominations.

  I liked Usele Usele. However I would rate 'Aathoram Kaatukkula' from Sam's pops pops as the best in all.
  
  It was also sung by the same Srinivas who did Usele Usele.
  
  From the same album, I liked the number 'Poovai' by Mahanadhi Shobana and 'Kanniley Kanniley' by Sampath. So this album is my number one favourite.
  
  Next from hearing the samples, my pick is 'Kaakai Siraginiley' from Mahakavi Barathi by Srikanth.

  Had a chance to listen to most of the songs in the competition. Lyrics, Tune and Rendition are better in Sam's POPS POPS - than some of the more established names. It's high time we recognize such promising youngsters instead of playing safe with popular artistes. With encouragement, Sam has the potential to shape into the next generation Illayaraja.   SAM's POPS POPS is easily the best among the competition just because it touches the lifeline of students who are the future of India. Hearing the album is nostalgic and will kindle fond memories of college days for anybody. I think SAM is the best of the lot and nothing else is even close to it. Keep it up SAM!!

  If one takes into account the breadth, scope, risk, integrity and execution of the entire project, then Srikanth's "Mahaakavi" towers above anything I've heard in Thamizh per se for the past few years.

  Just a quick note to convey my appreciation for the album SAM's POPS POPS.
  The tunes are unique and truly reflect the current trend in the music world,
  Kudos to the composer, lyrisit and all the singers.
  SAM's POPS POPS is like a breath of fresh air in the congested/confused Pop world.

  While I'm perfectly aware of the Thamizh sickness that aims to pit one against another, especially in the DF threads (I'm no exception to this sickness either), wouldn't the six artists above be better served through our encouragement for marching to their own beat?
  
  I wish all six of them are huge successes in the private music field and force a positive trend in the overall music scene.

  The thread was merely to find which album is best as of now and how much awareness do we have on this Tamil POP field.
  
  This is to Mr (or Ms) L, who is looking for the MP3 of Aaththoram Kaattukkulla of Sam's POPS POPS...
  
  The last time I visited http://www.sampath.com, I was surprised to know that I can download all the MP3s of that album, for free.

  Just heared 'Poovai' from Sam's Pop Pops. WOW..! What a song by Mahanadhi Shobana? I never knew that she sung a song in a POP album.
  
  But this was a very nice surprise. Very good song sung very well by Mahanadhi. Kudos to her.

  Didn't get a chance to listen to all the albums. However among those that I listened, Ussele and Sam's POPS POPS are good.

  Wwwwwwwwwwwwoooooowwwww !!!! This is what i can say after hearing the mind blowing voice of Ms. Anita in her debut album Mugangal. Her song Azhagiya Asura from the movie Whistle is yet another feather on her cap !! She is very talented and blessed with a voice which can blend to express any kind of emotion. God bless her.

  Aruvi.. u shudn't have missed out 'Paarvai' by Srinivas. I think it came out before Ussele, but did not gain as much popularity as ussele did. Nevertheless, the album has some great songs, especially one that goes "oh nenjame" (set to the ragam Pantuvarali) and "sangeethame sugam tharum varam" (set to maandu) and a duet by Sujata and Srinivas "mookuthi kallu, muthattam pallu" (a song that has oru maari oru gramathu feel) These songs are my favorites from the album. I guess u shud consider "Atma:Soul" by Bombay Jaishree too. Atma is a collection of Bharatiar s very beautifully rendered by Bbay Jaishree.
