This morning newspaper says Udit Narayan is the highest paid singer in tamil now.He is charging 80000 per song and the additional charges are 12000 to 14000 for his flight and few thousands for his stay and food expenses.Almost a lakh of rupees is being wasted on a person who cant pronounce tamil words. The audio market is suffering because of piracy,FM radio overexposure of music and so many other problems.
The trend is only becoming worse and worse.Even in "BOYS" singers like Adnan Sami and Lucky Ali are used by paying huge sums. Will ARR and Vidhyasagar think?????? because they are the main causes of this sorry state of affairs.

Needhi, what is the problem with us Tamil folks? Is this some campaign finance stuff? Leave those film guys alone, as far as i am concerned if the song sounds good with a certain voice and diction, and requires for a certain situation such diction or voice, what is the problem i say? Maybe Tamil singers are demanding more than Hindi singers, who knows or this is like tryin to humiliate local singers... so many factors, plus this is a global civilization. i don't mind hearing American voices singing native songs. That is whay Rahman should do now, get foreign voices and smash the industry with "new" innovations and "changing" changes with "first-time" new original pioneering efforts ;---) Take it easy, somebody is doing it, good, excitin, change is like fresh air. soon, we have to think of martians recordin tamil songs on Mars. Think far ahead, machchi.... it is life.... just do it... go for it rahmanji.

Very TRUE.
I was also just worried about the recent trend. Rahman and a few other idiotic MDs have started to get the idea that the public loves these kind of songs, where Tamil is being literally buried. It seems to be growing into a major issue. Many ads on SunTV too have similar touches. What the fu*k is the problem with these people? Who are they to bloody a sacred and beautiful language? And why is the media not reporting this. But I have an excellent idea that I indend to put to use. Dont buy products that advertise in such a manner. As for the music, only use MP3 files and watch pirated movies in all the movies that a song features bad tamil. This will serve them well. I will not buy BOYS audio cd. I will listen to the MP3. I will not watch BOYS in a theater or buy the DVD. I will download it off the net. Still I am not satisfied at the injustice done to my beloved Tamil. I intend to hit hard by also forcing my friends to do the same. Hopefully when these MDs are broke, they will have no reason to produce such songs.
