There is a really great song in Kadal Meengal by Ilaiyaraja. The song is 'Thalattudhe Vaanam...'. This according to my rating, is one-of the best ever by Raja. Does the film have any other good songs? I have not seen the film. I think it stars Kamal and Sujatha.

  Have you noticed that Raja does a great job when composing songs for situations connected to sea or fisher folk. Like "Kadal Meengal ",

  by ilayaraja himself with lot of 'jeevan'
  in the movie 'Chembaruthi'.
  The song is 'Kadilile ezhumbure alaigale keladi.. Oh mane...'
