T.Rajendar - The best MD of our times

TR - the unrecognized, under-discussed, sparkling gem of TFM industy. His talent has been overshadowed by the hype and hyperbole around IR & ARR, by their respective HCFs. I hate to say this, but can any of them be even compared to the bright shining star of TR?

  Yesterday, incidentally, I heard the song "Vaigai Karai Kaatre Nillu" of T.R.
  
  The closest non-IR song that comes anywhere near this one as far melody is concerned may be the song " Poongatrile" from "Uyire".
  
  Such being the quality of T.R's songs(numbers may be few) why do ARR fans boil if I make a comparison? They shoold infat be proud of it!

  ARR is the top MD for the past 10 years. Where is/was TR? Was he ever the top MD?

  I agree with cheenu-his nos in mythili EK,uyirulla varai usha,kilinjalgal,thangaikor geetham are all far better than the rubbish which ARR doles out to his fans in form of alli arjuna,star etc...any day!
  
  Ali Arjuna and Star are way, way ahead of movies such as the real garbage of Devan, Ilayavan, Kaathal Rojaave, Kannukkul Nilavu, Rajasthan, Manam Virumbuthe Unnai,
  and many many more.
  Now tell me, does this mean TR’s contribution much, much greater than IR?

  Contrary to what you think I pretty well am aware of the happenings of the period you have mentioned. I know about IR’s entry to the field, the electricity problem for the first recording, LR Eswari refusing to sing for him, his upsurge
  after 16 Vayathinile, his rising to star status, TR’s entry, S-G offering little resistance, MSV
  struggling to compete, IR’s quantum leap in the
  mid-80s, SAR’s entry with Paattu onnu naan
  paadattumaa, IR’s tiff with Gangai, his speed, how his mum’s death affected IR, and much much more than what you would expect.
  
  Talking about waking up, do YOU know the EXISTENCE of TFM before 1975?

  second is the rider to the statement-ARR of early 2000's.If he had said early 1990's I would have said nothing.relax mate.I thing you are becoming very touchy nowadays.otherwise why bring IR's name for the sole purpose of irritating me?get some life my friend!

  if it means "SAR debuted in this film", then i think its not the case. his debut film was in the film chinna poovae mella paesu with a very decent song by the same name, acted by prabhu.

  but only that pudhu vasanthan made such a big impact in the industry. That was a revelation of a film. Every thing was bold about that every thing was new. Even the songs were great and still are hummable. We have to give SAR his credit.

  ROTFL, I dont know what to say. You seem to be a schizophrenic - you give such a good list of MSV songs in other threads, then you make statements like this - saying TR is not even as good as Baradwaj & Harri Jeyraj. You obviously have no idea about TR's old songs and probably think that the high point of his career is monisha en mona lisa - OR you have no appreciation for melody/lyrics. That's why I wondered who gave you the MSV songs list in the "IR Emotional Songs" thread.
