IR & Jayachandran - Retrospection

Some of the songs Jaya chandran sang for IR, are absolute beauties, be it the breezy duet "Poonthendrale" along with Vani Jayaram or the "Thaalatuthe Vaanam" with SJ. He sang around 70 songs for IR, out of which around 80% are proclaimed hits.

Lets discuss about the songs, the films and why IR choose JC to sing only few songs , even though some of the songs were huge hits.

  I adore a song sung by JC and VJ, especially for VJ singing in a sensuous voice. The song goes some thing like " Anbe un per enna Rathiyo..". WHich film is this song and which MD?

  Saravanan, Iam damn sure EPTEMT is by IR.
  "Anbe un perenna" and "Chendu malli poo pol azhagiya pandhu" are 2 fascinating songs by JC and VJ , MD: MSV . What is the film?
  Another pleasant , hummable JC /SJ duet is

  Osho, I have always thought GA was the MD for En purushanthaan--. But if Raajangahm says its IR, then maybe it is so.

  One more song i would like others to hear is the Malalyalam song "Manjolum" from the movie "Yathra Mozhi" by IR. This movie had Mohanlal, Sivaji ganeshan and if i remember properly Ranjitha as the heroine. Was infact directed by Prathap Pothan.

  If you hear the second charanam, its easy to pick whos singing. In this case, its vintage KJY.

  What a song!. Indeed its by KJY
  
  All the songs are by KJY i think, except Theerthakaraithanile, which i am yet to hear.

  MUSIC LOVER, and some others are confusing these two songs.
  
  1. Theethakkaraiyiniley.. sambagapushpangale..
  Nee poochoodum kalangal panneerin kolangal
  padungal devaragangal..
  ....This was sung by KJY in the film Thai Pongal. A masterpiece by KJY (I dont' know the MD).
  
  2. Theerthakkarai Thanile.. sattu moolayil sambagathottathiley..
  ....This was sung by SPB (MD IR) in Varumayin Niram Sigappu. A masterly rendering of Bharathiyar kavithai by SPB.

  The song was by PJ/VJ if I remember correctly. The MD was KJ Joy, who was prominant in MFM at that time (70's).

  VV, KJ Joy is right, but that song was by SPB/PS, from Yarukku Yaar Kaaval (1979/ Neo manijeh Cine Productions)

  Actually during a regression it was discovered that IR and PJC were brothers in a past life, PJC was actually the elder of the two and repeatedly beat up IR with a stick (kattai). The bad karma resulted in PJC having a kattai kural which mottai used on a few occassions. This was because the kattais of our land did not relish PJC singing for a lover boy !!!!
  
  VV, Saravanan is right about the song.....compare SPB/PS and PJC/VJ.....what an insult to SPB/PS!!! The composer was Ramesh Naidu if my memory serves me right.
