g.m.
i expected your pulichchuppona arg.s. i knew that you will idiotically ask the same question many persons have asked before.
there is a fiff. bet'n THE reason and ONE OF THE reasons. try to understand it.
i also asked myself the q. why ir is not able to reach the same height once he dwelled in, when his CHANCES of becoming a world-wide celebrity is far more than previously.
i remember i said i don't know frankly.
it is still an open question. any sane person with a sensible view (which, of course excludes you) can participate in this debate.
even then, they are only their points of view.

a very interesting question. I for one as an indian do not think/imagne any sane person Indian/foreigner choose just ARR after listening to the best of both IR and ARR.
I would imagine choosing them both for diff projects or diff people choosing them.
So the surprising question is why IR's music though sounding extremely captivating is some how not catching up with the north.
the 3 reasons i think so are
1) They never got to listen to it
2) IR's music is too specific to the sense it mizes so much of carnautic music and tamil folk that it impresses us more quickly than outsiders. I guess the outsiders due to lack of knowledge wud even dismiss it as un-indian (with ref. the the "indianess" they have in their mind)
3) IR some how is not getting recognized his Hey ram music was superb but It was totally tamil dominated cast and a south oriented movie and the worst song in that album was only shown. I have never seen IR's full form being displayed in a full fledged hindi movie made by ghai, varma or sippy.
As to the international audience I just think IR expects them to come to him. He doesnt outwardly do something of his own to get their attention which only means he does not want it.

Man: "yes! mister! I understand, But in what direction"

rephrasing point # 3.
3) IR some how is not getting breaks to get properly recognized. His Hey ram music was superb but the movie had a totally tamil dominated cast and was a south oriented movie and the worst song in that album was only shown in all promos. I have never seen IR's full form being displayed in a full fledged hindi movie made by ghai, varma or sippy.

Talking like this isnt going to win arguments MAHABS. Put up a valid response without Beating Around The Bush ... Perhaps you couldnt digest the fact that you are loosing the argument.

yes! well said Bharath. infact it has happened. IR was signed-in to compose a symphony in RPH UK and he successfully completed it(successful even looked in stringent sense also, because RPH did not find any fault in it and conducted and recorded it). Now ARR is working AWL project based on India. Different type of requirements for different type of MDs from India.

gm,
i am not arguing. i am discussing. i am not even pleading like you did once. (pl. arr is great. pl.accept this. pl.!)
bharath!
reg. your second point, why should we be impressed by a mix of western and hidustani? they are also different to our ears.
do you mean to say that tamilians are more receptive or gullible to such kind of music than the north indians and forigners?

you hit the nail on the head. we lack pride in our tamil folk and we crave for something foregn/exotic. Hence the disparity

Music is UNIVERSAL.
And no one here have said that they have lost interest in tamil folk music.

I would be happy to hear IR got a cinema express award than hearing he was called by Royal ....whatever.
we must learn to be self- sustained. Being in a position to compose film music itself is motivation enough. dont need awards and rankings to motivate onself.
again the rest is a bonus! But again if IR/ARR want international fame then they have the right to search for it! I think ARR is in search for it IR is not.
I am just happy that I got best of both ARR/IR worlds.

ARR is in search of International Fame not for Himself, but for Music From India. You can read this from one of his interviews in RAHMANONLINE.COM
