  AID(Association for India Development) has set up an Emergency
  Relief Fund for assisting earthquake hit victims in Gujarat. I am confident
  that the funds from AID are spent in useful manner. All contributions to AID
  are tax deductible. Most companies have matching grant programs, please look

  Lakshman Shruthi Orchestra team are playing Tamil film Music on the streets on top of an open lorry with their orchestra collecting funds for the Gujarat Earthquake victims, THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN INDIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AS ON DATE. The mass is responsive and receiving them gladly. Film Play back Singers like Dr.Siva Chidambaram, Subha and troupe singers are singing. Dr.Siva Chidambarams sensible speech up to the point and the sensitive rendering of "Aadi Adangum Vazhkayada" was timely and moved the audience to tears. It is gladdening to see such a thing happening out of good will through tamil film music! I listened to this JUST NOW AT LUZ CORNER MYLAPORE OPPOSITE NAVASAKTHI VINAYAGAR TEMPLE WHERE THE STAGE ON WHEELS WAS PARKED!! LONG LIVE THE GREAT SOULS FOR THEIR DEDICATION!

  I will let you know about me and my activities I am a student of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNU) and have done the course of Certificate of the same will me awarded to me after the successful complistion of the Disaster Management course. Now days I am working as project support officer in United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Initialy I have work with Work Bank project and have Capacity Building Programme for local people at Kutchch-Gujarat. It is a long-term disaster prepredness project for surrounding effected area of Zone: five (most varnablle area of earthquake) as classifide by Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA), State of Gujarat. At that time I was a Regional Coordinator of this project and have complited the project after joining UNDP. This work is not fully as per my choice but I am interested in doing work independently and that of for long tram in coordination of local people.
  I am Managing Trustee of Centre for Ecological Action Front (CEAF). Which is registered by government under the cheritable and Society’s Act, now a days our team (we all trustee) decided to work for disaster management & environment protection. After Gujarat earthquake, we have started rehabilation work at village Khirai {very interery of highway and near littan runn (deseart) of Kutchch} at Rajakot district. Khirai have been collepsad 98% during the earthquake taken place on 26th Jan. 2001 Khirai is not in kutchch area.
  Also we are counuctding veryouse training programme for local people and local government bodies viz. like Firstaid, Search & Rescus, Early warrning and communication, Demage assesment etc.
  I am mutch intersted to know from you…
  (1) Your experiences, (2) How to tide over the naturaly calamity (3) The way of giving maximum relief to the people of afected area (4) Mode of working and other new creatives innovative ideas to counduct the work in fullflage for better long trum disaster preperdness for the society.
