Stage performance of singers

Do the singers really sing or they lip-synch?
In a live concert of Rehman in Dubai I felt some songs were recorded and played.Subha was singing Thee thithikkum thee in thin voice.
VIVA girls dance so much but they never seem to take breath keep continuing to sing! and dance

  In rehman and deva concerts singers mostly lip synch.It was obvious in LA show in 2000 when hariharan missed the lyric and was searching the paper and the voice was going on and on .

  in some concerts they lip - sync ,. and in some concerts they sing. most of all the concerts by Janaki , chitra, lata , spb and KJY are not lip -sync. they sing really.
  but, in some concerts(mumbai and chennai ARR concerts), Sadhana , Alka lip - synched few songs
