  I don't want to get in trouble over this but some of the comments seem sort of conceited, but maybe it's the way the reporters wrote. But then again, most people would agree that what she said was true.

  I never expect PS to give a statement like 'naanum TMSum saadhikaadhadhaa? EngaL paadalai yaaraalum vella mudiyaadhu. makkaL innum andha paadalgaLai virumbi kaetpadhae adharku aadhaaram". I think the reporters may have written in that way. What she said maybe true but I sense some sort of 'Aanavam' in her interview (if she had really used those words 'vella mudiyaadhu').

  Hi folks, After reading the postings above, I infact looked forward to read the interview with a surfacing fear...!
  
  First of all, I did not understand anything at all during my first read! It was as though when a question was asked she answered for another! namma thamizh papers-la varra edhuvumE ippadidhaan uruppadiyaa irukkaadhu, I mean the language and the presentation. The questions were also so typical and boring.
  
  Her answer to the question, "innum sadhikka edhaavadhu irukkunnu ninaichadhunda?", I could somehow take it as a matter of fact. Adhula aanavam thonichadha enakku theriyalai, maara oru aadhangam irukkiraa maadhiridhaan thonuchu (considering her present status in the industry)!
  
  On the whole the interview was a crap! Adhukkum mEla andha follow-up: 'malarndhum malaraadha' paattukku peNgaL azhudhaangalaam, ivan pakkathula irundhu paathaan! Sorry aruvi, you have wasted a thread!

  I absolutely agree with karthi. The Q posed to her was so stupid, that the reply was also mundane. And the interview interestingly mentions that it was TMS who said "Ennudaya isaiya vella yaaralum mudiyaadhu", and later attributes this quote to PS!!! I wont be surprised if TMS had made such a statement, but definitely not PS!

  I too first thought that the words "engal paattai yaaraalum vella mudiyaadhu" was quoted by TMS (and there is no surprise in TMS saying like that). But, after reading the interview, it seems PS was the one who said, "thiraippadath thurayil naanum T.M.Sounderrajanum saadhithadhai pola veru yaarum saadhikkavillai. engaL paadalgaLai yaaraalum vella mudiyaadhu enbadhai makkaL innum avatrai virumbi kaetgiraargaL enbadhil irundhae therindhu koLLa mudigiradhu". I had great respect for PS and that is why I was worried when I read this. I heard that PS is a down to earth person irrespective of all that she had achieved. And, still I can't believe that PS told those words. Like what Karthi said, if her words were quoted wrongly by the press and PS didn't tell those words, I would be more than happy.

  I felt that the words "vella mudiyaadhu" was a mixture of both aanavam and aadhangam. But, I believe she wouldn't have used those words and these press people would have twisted her words to give a 'paraparappu' (?!) news. That is why, I feel they had gone overboard saying that "PS 'malarndhum malaraadha' paadalai paadikkondirukkum podhu, Saavithri kevik kevi azhuvadhai pola azhudhavudan angae koodi irundha pengaL yaavarum azhudhanar". So, I feel we need not take this interview seriously. Only thing I fear is that this may create a wrong impression on PS.

  BTW, to recall a part of my meeting with PS about 5 years back in Madras: pEchu vaakkula PS enna sonnaanganna (appO Gentleman padam vandha pudhusu)
  "ottagatha kattikkOnnu ellaam naa paadinaa jananga EthuppaangaLa?" (probably she meant the standard of lyrics and music in today's songs!). UdanE naan kEtten (naa kEkka ninaichadhai koncham maathi kEttEn) "Neenga lyrics pidikkalai-nnu endha paattaiyaavadhu paada maruthadhunda" - idhukku PS just illainnu solliyirukkalaam, but what she said was, "adheppadi solla mudiyum paada kooppitta padithaanE aaganum?" - idhukku enna solreenga? Let's all not build images of our favourites only based on their talents and nothing else - illainnaa namakku orutharaiyumE pidikkaama pOyidum!

  Niyaayamaana kaezvi Karthi. Of course, anyone, for that matter, will get irritated. I didn't read the interview in that perspective and so I got disappointed with her words.
