"thenDral vandhu thEEndumpOdhu" is a great song which is very unique with his own voice. "Arithaaraththa pOOsikkoLLa" and "Oru kuNdumani" are good songs too. Raaja's voice perfectly matched for Nasar.

i liked the song 'chandiranum sooriyanum' best, it had this western classical music that was blended so well with a simple seamless effort that one actually begins to feel there is a link between the eastern and western classical music. also the lyrics conveyed the feelings of a an artless villager who breaks into a rapture when he is happy. the song is lively and makes u cheerful at the first hearing itself.

"Thendral Vandhu Thoongum podhu" is an amazing composition that continues to mystify me. Upon returning home from the US, I was saddened to know that Raja was scarce and then there were very few songs of his still alive in Chennai. One that easily stood out was this Thendral...
Raja was continuing to experiment with new styles and cadence of this song brought me back my dying spirits, particularly so because Raja was himself rendering it.
It was not like 'Samakozhi', or 'Unnakenathaane' or a 'Enna Pattu Pada' unconsciously uniting entire South India into acknowledging the ageless beauty of our rural living and past.
The song was kind of an assurance from Raja to his lost fans that he is still there for us, ever green in his mind to be challenged by the dynamic state of music and always will come up with an answer to what is more in music than anyone can ever know.

"Thendaral vanthu theendum pothu" song which want to tell in simple terms is a reflection of what the director and the lyrist want to tell about their idea about colours.

Its a mystery that people in india dont know who raja really is.the fault lies on the music illiteracy in india.one out of 10 american plays piano whereas one of 1000 in india. Moreover another fake thing is the dominance of north over south.its a great insult that some north indians dont know who illayaraja is.I'm not a fan of raja but i admire him because he had crossed all limits of music and writting notations without touching any instrument. In real today raja can be compared with mozart or beethoven or bach but the irony is that he is gone unnoticed by the western world just because India failed to recogonise him.destroy the voice culture of the north to progress into the real world of music
