Music director Laxmikant has passed away

MD Laxmikant passed away day before yesterday.
Together with Pyarelal, I believe he scored music for
any Thamizh movies. If that's true, how were the songs in
those movies? To remember this great MD shall we
list and discuss these songs?

  Thats a really sad news...he was the king of hindi field in early 80s(along with pyarelal).LP did music for few tamil movies like 'uyire unakkaaga','mangai oru gangai','nadodi mannan'etc.
  
  All the songs from 'uyire unakkaaga'were good.
  The songs are
  'panneeril nanaindha pookal'
  'i want to be a big man'
  'uyire unakkaaga'
  'thaenoorum raagam naan paadum neram'
  'kavidhaigal viriyum vizhiyile'
  (there are couple of songs more in this film)
  
  "Neeradi vaa thendralae" from'Mangai oru gangai'
  is a beautiful song so as 'mayil thogai asaindhaal'from "nadodi mannan".
  
  Was LP the MD for 'uzhaithu vazha vendum'(sathyaraj in dual role)?

  I think Nadodi mannan is not by LP. Probably you
  meant Ragasiya police.
  
  "panneeril nanaintha pookkal"(U.Unakkaaga) is one of my favorites.

  nadodi Mannan is by Deva. I think you are referring to Ragasiya Police. Vijaya Kanth is the hero in uzhaithu vazha vendum.
  Neeradi Vaa thendralae has too version, one by SJ and the other by Dinesh, a new comer. It has also Acham illa Pathaiyil.. by chitra. LP had componsed music for 'Maine Pyar Kiya' which was later dubbed into tamil as 'Kathal Ennum Kavithai'. The music director for the dubbed version is Raam-Laxman, but they(??) borrowed the original tunes from the hindi version.

  Mano 'Ram Lakshman'was the MD for Maine pyar kiya
  (even for the hindi version-He is the MD for 'HAHK'too)
  Yes it its Ragasiya police and not Nadodi mannan.
  
  Im wrong abt 'uzhaithu vazha vendum'too i guess.
  But this film i have in mind also had some MGRs song as its title. Its an AVM production,Roopini and Gowthami were the heroines
  and Kavitha krishnamurthy made her debut in tamil films.

  LP's first movie 'Parasmani' had a dubbed version in Tamil as "Maayamani". LP had scored music for the tamil version also. PBS had sung 'kalaa mangaiyo' in "Maayamani". Sathiyakeerthi will remember my discussion on this song long ago.

  many people believe that LP did badly in the 80s due to too much use of the dhholaks.
  True very true.
  
  But people are forgetting their remarkable classical scores.
  
  
  examples:
  
  1)sur sangam: Here they got classical singers Raajan and Saajan Mishra to sing along with Lata,Kavita and Anuradha
  
  2)"bhairavi" - here Kavita has rendered amazing classical songs!!! And the film is around 95-96 I think.
  
  3)"sant dnyaneshwar" - the song 'bahut din beete' by Lata is an amazing shivaranjani song - probably the most UNIQUE shivaranjani.
  
  4)"sati savitri"
  
  5)"parasmani" had a great ghazal in Yamankalyan
  
  6)"aaye din bahaar ke" had an ethereal song by THE NIGHTINGALE - "suno sajana". The alaap of this song is LOVELY.
  
  7)"jeevan mrityu" had a great marubihaag ghazal by Lata.
  
  8)"badaltey rishtey" had a ghazal by Lata and Mahendra Kapoor in puriya."mere saanson ko..."
  
  9)"madhavi"
  
  10)"satyam shivam sundaram"
  
  11)"utsav"

  LV: Are you listing these songs (and re-opened this thread) merely to show off that you know the names of all these raags? Reopening a thread on a dead guy, is like reopening his/her grave. Laxmikanth is dead; God bless his soul. If you want to discuss his music (in other words show off your little knowledge that you gained in multiple years of Hindustani music training), please find a suitable Hindi FM forum. If none exists, please talk to yourself. Please don't bore us with these "lists" that we did not care about in the first place.
