prakash,
You only have me pouncing on the keyboard and that too to point out how needless your post is. It's bad enough cussing at anybody but worse still when that person deserves more. kiru is one of the few people in this forum who consistantly posts without getting into tirades and name-calling. You are truly in for it if you keep this attitude up. Watch yourself.

udhaya,
i think you missed out the sarcasm in prakash's post. he was just warning kiru of what trouble he might be getting in to for claiming bharathy as the album of the year :-). i think he just forgot to add the smiley (which actually made it a much stronger sarcasm than we usually have here :-) ).

hihi,
I hope to hell you are right. I'm so sick of cheap shots in this forum.

I agree with Kiru. Ethilum ingE is a great song and certainly a wholesome melody in Tamil after a long time and dat (oh!God..the Theva disease is getting to me) is my pick. Theva, you did not give the 'treatment' to the word there...so der !! :))

Gotta run..but, thanks Udhaya..I think hihi is right..prakash is only sarcastic.
Some points I wanted not to be missed is
- the way carnatic music is sung is to provide ambience by itself. Those days they did not have recorded music to which one can add reverb :).
Same goes for Opera, I guess.
- another point is the strength of melody itself is key to a composition..literally and figuratively the orchestration is 'pakka vAdhyam' alone.
- last I did not want to misspell ingenious as ingenuous :)

"Film" albums should end...let there be real composers for films....

udhaya,
i did plan to give a "rejoinder" to prakash, but i withheld :-). (btw, the hihi:-) was me :-) )
swamiji :-)). the only way this will happen is when the real composers are "fostered" well. how many of us buy non-film albums produced in india (unless they were produced by ir or arr?). i, personally, am waiting for sridhar seetharaman to come out with a fullfledged album :-))

hihi, kiru, you both were right.(and you were wrongf there udhaya)
i WAS Sarcastic.and this time i did not forget the smiley:-)
udhay.you had me confused there-your posting suggests kiru deserves more cussing.i am sure you meant otherwise.
correct me if i am wrong.another smiley:-)

Gentlemen,
I feel good after couple of guys out here have mentioned "Ethilum IngE" as a great song. I was amazed and "pullarichi - fied" when I listened to this song in the movie. Also, I thought it was sung by Yesudas until I checked some web sites.
Again, what a melody. After "Amma Endru" from Mannan, IR does it again with another haunting melody "Ehilum IngE". Idhu Podhum .. Innum Sila Varushangalulku...

digression
since many people speak about "Yedhilum ingu" song as good, i want to give the credit to the lyricist. It is Pulavar Pulamaipithhan's song. Seems this guy has been writing very good, karuthu serivumikka paadalgaL. In the era of more exagerations and sometime highly incomprehensible abstractions and paethals in cine songs(here..im not for any fight), his songs like "Yedhilum ingu", "Amudhae Thamizhae" etc are really very refreshing to the mind. I'm sure the combo IR and PP(pulavar pulamaipiththan) has give some more beautiful songs like this.
btw i think the song "janani janani" is also written by him, please correct me if i'm wrong.
