Bharathiraja - IR

Well, we all know how many classics that Bharathiraja-IR films have brought us. What are the best ones in your opinion? For me, it has to be Alaigal Oiyvathillai. Absolutely phenomenal music by raja. 16 Vayathilnile and Nadodi Thendral are also fantastic IR compositions.

  i feel that mudhal mariyadai is the best among the best scores of IR for BR. that is the film where there was perfect synchoronisation between the music, lyrics, situation, picturisation, acting and singing. it is one of the milestones in modern tamil film music. but, of course all the other movies were good as well

  best.... hmm... i would rate all of BR's movie, except one - Valibamae Vaa Vaa.... in fact BR himself will not acknowledge that movie as a movie at all..... one of the junk movies i had seen.....

  All IR-BR movies are really excellent.
  You can find BR movies combined with other MDs are kuppai.
  This is true in IR-Balachander's movies too.

  Please remember 'Vedham Pudhithu', 'Kizhakku Cheemiyile' and 'Karuthamma'. These BR movies had super good songs... though no IR.

  yes Raj.... that's the worst movie BR made... well, actually he was fed up when Kadhaal Oviyum flopped.... so like a *pazhi vangudhal* thing he took that movie, and u know the joke, Valibamae Vaa Vaa ran better than Kadhal oviyum :-)....

  Mudhal Mariyathai is the best in my opinion. However, I can't think of one bad musical score from IR for BR's Movie. They had perfect harmony in their works. Till date this is the best combo.

  That news is in the Air. In the release of "Kallikaatu Ithiaasam", BR expressed his wish to picturise the novel. I also stated only IR can do score the music well. I don't think this will come true. But it is a good combination to reunite.

  But in one of a book release function, BR released a book written by Vairamuthu and exclaimed, that he would wish to direct the film based on the book. And he also exclaimed that, if taken, only HE can compose the music successfully reflecting each and every mood and scene of the film.
  The audience understood who is HE and gave a g8 applause. Similarly I heard that BR participated in a function alongwith IR. But what is surprising me is why they have not joined hands?

  Mudhal mariyadai ..is the best from the BR-IR combination.
  Recently, happened to listen "Kadhal oviyum" from Alaigal oivathillai..
  the way the song starts with sloka and then with a christian touch with
  church bells - An intelligent means to convey the current situation in the movie.
  The chorus, Veena, the simple jazz and the violin interludes..An amazing song overall ..
  Only a genius as IR can create.
