It is true. Youngsters do not have to worry about the intricacies of a song. When Nizhalgal was released i loved the song 'Madai Thirandhu' and 'Pon Mazhai Pozhudu' more than other songs. If you ask me now my first choice would be 'Thoorathil Naan Kanda'.. a brilliant fusion music and stunning vocal by SJ. Next would be Poongathave Thazh Thiravai. IR kinda covered all the bases there. People who are below 20 may not appreciate IR's complex compositions now. But sure they will appreciate in the future. I saw couple of movies recently, Aananda Poongatre Music by Deva and Raja Music by S.A.Rajkumar. It is indescribable how mediocre the music was in those movies. Especially the BGM. I also saw Moha Mul second time two days back. Wow man.. IR has proved he is unparalleled in that movie. It is his sheer variety that has captured wide range of audiences. Ivan BGM is outstanding. He is untapped musical reservoir. It is shame on our Directors to use him for junk movies.

I heard, not exagerrating, but gramathu ilainjargal are listening to songs like en mana vanil than kadhal virus..Infact, Desiya Geetham which was decent and considered a flop did well in rural side. and this is true as I did feel it myself and my cousin also lives in a gramam.
All these hypes are, I guess, created only by the city youngsters

ARR music touches the nuances of classical too. But one is not certain in what proportion he mixes the karnatic and Hindustani tradition. That might be the one reason why his music is adored by whole of India. For example "kanna moochi adava" is kandukonden is foiled with nattai kurinji with a Hindustani touch makes it a nice melody. Leaving aside the words, ARR music can scintillate any listener young or old
