The Combo of A.R.Rahman + Vijay

Hey guys..the combo of ARR + Vijay in Udhaya is magnificant....so..the next movie by they both (under Aparajith Banner) is sure to be a chartbuster..dun u think???plzz discuss....No Bashing recomended in this tread!

  Sorry Dinesh, the all time best of Vijay is "Kadhalukku Mariyathai" with Ilayaraaja ... ask him if you want ...
  And his "friends" with Ilayaraaja is a super hit also ;)

  I would say it is an unlucky combination - Udhaya delayed by many years and not really a hit. Udhaya is the first ARR+Vijay combo, but quite franky, Pras is right, Kadhalukku Mariyathai was the top Vijay film. He has had a decline since!

  Vijay is quite particular about the songs of his movies and fortunately for him, most of his movies have had popular songs.
  
  Friends, in my opinion, was the least impressive of all his movies. Even Kathalukku Mariyathai had nothing to shout about other than Ennai thaalaatta varuvaalo. It is not surprising that Vijay stopped visiting IR after the debacle of Friends.
  
  Vijay's most successful association has been with SA Rajkumar and Deva - Thullatha Manamum Thullum and Priyamanavale comes to mind immediately.
  As for ARR, Uthaya is making its rounds on the airwaves, but whether it will sustain or not, only time can tell.

  Kum_Laden, UDHAYA is all set for release on May 1st. The film is expected to clash with Madhavan's PRIYAMAANA THOZHI (Vikraman and AVM), and Ajith's MAHAA (Shaji Kailash).
  
  As far as the best music for Vijay goes, it has been S A Rajkumar's THULLADHA MANAMUM THULLUM, Ilyaraja's FRIENDS, KADHALUKKU MARIYAATHAI and also KANNUKKUL NILAVU were also melodious. Ramana Gokula's BADRI to some extent was ok. Even Mani Sharma's SHAHJAHAN and YOUTH has been good. Not to be forgotten the latest "Sakkarai Nilavae" from YOUTH and Vassant directed Deva's music, NERUKKU NAER. "Geethai" and "Udhaya" are just about average. I too am an A R Rahman fan and most of all an avid music lover, but just cannot accept the fact that UDHAYA is too good. It is just about average. "Thiruvalli Keni" and "Udhaya Udhaya" are good thats all.

  I think we can expect, Rahman has given very suitable music for vijai for his dancing style in 'UDAYA'. previous hits did not have origionality of music except KADHALUKKU MARIATHAI by raja. most of the hits had only melodius but udaya has variety.

  guys just stop comparing movies. i think everyone would accept the fact that every movie has it's own theme . imagine IR scoring for a movie like bhagavthi. it would'nt have been good.
  so stop comparing udaya with kadalukku mariyadhai .they r totally differnt . each great in it's own way though.
