SO BABA IS A FLOP?!

barring all barriers, there is an universal report that BABA IS A FLOP. not just from laymen, even his ardent fans are absolutely unhappy with the film. spiritual leaders and severe religious people are angry with rajini. For people who beleived that rehmanis going to be the sving grace, he was the greatest disappointment. There is no commitment or seriousness in his music. Pls read reviews in Anandha vikatan and Kumudham. Nice to know that the press is bold to express their views. Anyway for the sake of clippings, movie rights and votes SUN TV will place it at no 1 in all countdowns for the next one year. But what we want to know as ardent rajini fans is : RAJINI SIR, ARE YOU REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THE OUTCOME OF THE MOVIE? DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS WHAT IS COMING OR YOU ALSO FEEL BETRAYED AND CHEATED?

  Now IR did western fusion numbers like Elamai etho etho and so many others, so please don't call him he makes music for the context, both Ir and arr are album makers. Thats why they are so much talked about.
  Hum the tunes of dilse and taal, try humming eh ajnabi and kariye nah, nahi samne these things dont need great intelligence to be appreciated.
  forget Techno and all the hi-fi stuff, how many tunes had he made in last 10 years like elangatru vesuthey, nirpaduvey, unna vida, ennai thalata varuvala? We are asking for only songs like this from IR we don't expect him to match ARR and make songs like Konjam nilavu.
  Most of the times he makes a gundu malli and doesn't care about it.
  
  #He doesn't think about marketting his songs while doing his music nor does he worry whether the song will be a hit or not while composing.#
  Yes i agree with you had he worried if the song will become a hit he would have taken more care than just churning out what he likes.
  
  #ARR is an intelligent composer but he is yet to prove a lot. He should first come of out this dream world fantasy music producion, start using traditional instruments and produce albums that has indian nativity
  
  Similary Ir should come out of his dream world fantasy thinking this is enough for the situation and start making tunes like the ones i said earlier.
  Just like you say IR shouldn't get into techno we will Say arr need not get into this usage of traditional instruments, the argument would go endless.
  I have already said this many times, what matters most in film music is hummable tunes and IR is far less consistent these days, if you want to talk about knowledge then please ask IR to explore his talent in Carnatic and traditional music, film music itself is sugar coated form.
  MS subulaksmi may know more ragas than IR and ARR, afterall she is a Bharat ratna, but ask her to compose a film song? We wont know how good she will be.
  That is the same case here, claiming Ir is a reservoir of ragas doesnt help, its the application that matters, And you mr.Gentleman had IR given only songs like Gundumalli all through you wont be here defending him, its the songs like Valaiosai, shenbagame that touched everyones hearts makes you talk about him.

  I never knew you guys were so interested in discussing why baba flopped, i though you guys were casual.
  Anyways i am getting into a trap everytime by an ardent Ir fan.
  Since i like ARR so much that doesnt mean i hate IR, now if i recap everything i dont feel that great.
  Let them Bash Arr i cant make a horse drink water.

  It was not my intension to start a fight or something... It was that BEWARE guy who brought IR into the scene unnecessarily and I had to reply to him... "IR Failed" is a bit harsh and any IR fan would easily get offended by this and so did I. Since Mr Thiru asked for a justification, I said something, he said something and things just got carried away....

  There was a time when TF was ruled by MKT and PUC, then by MGR, SIVAJI and Gemini, then by Rajini and Kamal, a brief period by Ajit, Vijay and Prasanth and now by so many unknowns with one-movie stardom !
  Similarly, G.Ramanathan and Subbiah Naidu, followed by MSV/VR and KVM, and then IIR who ruled the field exclusively for a decade to be shaken/slackened by ARR and then a mushroom of Md's now!
  Everyone is entitled to like any one particular or more or all, but let's not indulge in putting down the others in the name of fanaticism and degrade ourselves in the process.
  I know there are some who want such discussions to continue just for the mere sake of fuelling the feud for their own sadistic pleasures but let us understand that each of the above mentioned 'greats' have contributed for the better of TFM and let us not indulge in fighting among ourselves.
  Why should "thiru" and "cho" have any animosity for the sake of someone else/

  There was a brief 2-3 yr period when A/V/P had more movies released and that's why i said so.
  In fact, I haven't mentioned the SSR/AVMRajan/JaiShankar/Mutthuraman/Ravichandran/Prabhu/Bhagyaraj/Karthik/and others as they never dominated or were under the 'great's' influence.
  The same goes for TRPappa/GKV/VKumar/Shankar-Ganesh/Ramamoorthy[alone]/and others for MD's.

  i haven't heard some of the names you've mentioned.
  Btw, i am happy that the A/V trend is having lukewarm reception, Vikram and Surya experiment with their roles hence TFs can improve.
