Happened to see kadal pookal. What a stunning movie from Bharathiraja. Hats off. Deva's music was the only sore point in otherwise 'excellent' product...Bharathiraja, keep giving worthwhile movies like KADAL POOKAL...TFWorld needs those badly. Good performance from all the characters and man, what an excellent screenplay.

Hi Kjy,
I too had watched the movie. The movie is really very good. It is another good BR movie. On music my opinion is also not too good. "Aadu Meuthey" and "Alai Alai Alai" songs are really good. Other songs are just average and Deva had failed miserably in BGM (love sequence BGMs are ok).

I think the alai alai alai is suttufied from a Malayalam song which used to be played often here...it's catchy though.

yes ragavan...u know what, the handful of theatre owners who had the guts to release this movie are now 'all smiles'...apparantly, the movie has been successfully running in theatres that released it. I cud not understand why apart from Raj TV, other "top ten movie" countdown shows do not have KADAL POOKAL in their list...superb movie after a very long time....I really wish Bharathiraaja gives more movies like these....

guys, special congratulations to both Murali & Manoj...they have virtually lived the life of "fisher men" perfectly in the film...especially Manoj, massive improvement from Tajmahal..

Yes, I completely agree with you, kjy! Though it is another sentiment movie, these two actors and the screenplay has made all the difference!

Basically I don't like Manoj as a actor. But in Kadal Pookal he has done well. Murali, Uma and Pratiuksha exceled. I don't know whether the movie is hit or not. But it is a BR movie.

One song - Aadu meyuthe - is enough to sing the praises for Deva.
Deva pugazh vaazhga!
Let one song of recent IR be as listenable like this song, and then we can tal about comparison.

And again local singer Satya has been abandoned after that one song. While Satya can still improve, she sounds a lot fresher and more original than most of today's singers.

Neel, who is that singer? Are u talking about Aadu Meuthey singer? If so, she should be encouraged well. Her voice is very fresh and good. Is she Tamil origin? Then sorry from TFM.

G. Ragavan
Satya is the singer who sang 'aadu mayuthey', She is daughter of a villain artist Nambirajan (Perisaa meesai vechchuNdu niRaiya padaththiala varuvaar, nichchayam paarththiruppeenga neenga :-),
I think the other singer is Krishnaraj ! The song is good, But I am not satisfied with that for a BR movie,
(BTW, Why I am getting reminded of 'Yaarum viLaiyaadum thottam' song whenever I listen to this aadu song ? Tune is not the same ... but but but ... )

Movie's screenplay is simply superb. Kudos to BR's touch
P/S - would have better if there could be any SJ's song in that movie

why is the movie not showing in any top ten shows other than RAJ TV? That beats me....

After seeing this movie - how I wish IR had scored for this movie...
Especially the sequence where Uma is lovestruck and BR shows the sea with fishes jumping around... hmmmm....
