The song is:

Aanandham Athu Ennada, Avai Kaanum Vazhi Sollada,
Paruvangal Oru Jodiyo, Ammadi, Tamasha, Aadhada!

Movie: Iru Nilavugal - Music: Rajan-Naghendra - Lyrics: ???? - Singer: SPB

If you are interested, I have this song at home and I can get the lyrics for you( which is not great because the lyrics were made to match the Telugu version of the song and was not nicely done ) but is still fun to listen to.

no 1 is from 'our veedu oru ulagam'(*ing Srikanth,Shobha)-singers TLMaharajan,BSSasirekha-MSV-Kannadasan

Pagalavan Irunilavugal was not by Balumahendra.
It was a dubbed film from telugu that had
Kamal(in dual role)with jaisudha and Rojaramani-music by Rajan Nagendra /lyrics-vaali

Thanks guys.

BTW, Iru Nilavugal (I have seen the movie) was directed by Sungeetham Srinivasa Rao. This movie was the basis for Michael Madhana Kama Rajan. Many Scenes from IN were reused in MMKR.

I have also seen Oru Veedu Oru Ulagam (long time back)- is a great movie.

The song you are referring to is a Kamal-Jayasudha
duet. There is one more duet with the other heroine.

The Telugu version was "Sommakadidhi Sokokadidhi"

Karaiyellam Senbagappoo is supposed to have good songs. Does anybody have details ? I remember seeing a song like 'EriyilE elandha maram un thangachi vacha maram' on oLiyum oliyum.

Hey Ramki & Ravi:

The songs from "Karaiyellaam Senbagappoo" are not that bad as you guys put it.

1. Earu Pudichavarey, Eichupputta Vallavarey
Yenaiyya Ungalukku Inthapponnu Thoathuyilley

is a nice folky song sung by P.Susheela & MVasudevan.

2. Eariyiley Elanthamaram Thangachi Vachamaram

is an excellent song with beautiful music, great orchestration and a good blend of chorus, an altogether unique song and beautifully sung by SJ

3. Kaadellaam Pichippoovu Karaiyellaam Senbagappoo

is an okay song sung by Ilaiyaraja which I think was an experimentation by IR with an unusual blend of Western and Folk music.

4. Kalyaanraman, Cuckoo Raman

is a good song except for the portion sung by SJ which was made to sound very stylish but only manages to irritate people. The portion sung by SPB is very good and the western music with Guitar interludes sound great for those days.

5. a folk song sung by Manorama which I don't have, but I remember as a great song. I tried to get this song but couldn't find it anywhere.

All together, I think this was a decent album but the movie failed miserably causing the songs not to get popular. The story by Sujatha was a great one which I had read and enjoyed but the movie did not do justice to the original story.

Just my opinion!!!

Does anyone know who is the MD for this song?

'Siriththai, Andha sirippil naan malarndhEn.. by SPB. I think the movie is AnandhaBhairavi(late 70's ). I remember the MD was not very famous but not able to recall his name.

Ellorukkum ennudaya belated "Diwali" vaazhthukkal! I know this year's "Diwali" is over but its always better to be late than never. I was tied up with my work for quite sometime now. Today I am a "bit" free thats why this mail.

Which movie is the song "Saravanan Sonnan Sankaran Kettaan Satchikki Swamimalai"? This is a nice song.I vaguely remember that this song was sung in the movie by Jaisankar (Appa) and Master Sridhar(of Madras Doordarshan fame, as Pillai)

There is a song in movie named "Lakshmi" sung by IR, which I think was banned by AIR from relaying. This movie was released somewhere in late 70's. I very well remember IR singing this song in Navasakthi Vinayakar Koil (near Luz), Mylapore, Madras. This public (free) late night concert was during one of the 10 days festival of Vinayak Chaturthi in this kovil in late 70's when IR was just becoming popular. I remember the following comment made by Gangai Amaran(in his customary humor) during this concert at a group of people sitting on top of Hotel Abaad near that Koil:
"Abaad-u Hotel mel utkaarnthuirukkum rasigarkaley Abaththu varamal paarthu kollavum".

I don't know the reason for banning this song? Appo naan sinna paiyan. Sutru vattarathil ellorum inda paattai kettuvittu "Idai Radio-la Ban pannittanga-pa" appidunnu sonnanga. Adhai appadiyae ungiladam naan sollugiraen. Not only this, there are two more IR songs that I can think of, that were "banned" by AIR, Madras. By "ban" I mean that AIR, Madras indah paattai oliparappiyadae illai. The other two songs are:

1) ORambo Orambo Rukumini Vandi varudu..
2) Vaadi Enn kappa kizhenkae..

Ah Nyabagam vandidichi..! I got that song from "Lakshmi". It is "Thenna Marathiley Thendral Adikkudu..". I think PS also sings along with IR in this song.

I was listening to a great song - poovAdai kAtRE - from the movie My Dear Kutti Saathaan. There is another great song in the movie - I think it is a SJ solo. Does anybody remember this song ?

BTW - in poovAdai kAtRE - KJY pronounces the L sound perfectly - inbam engum koLLai aLLa kaigaL illai. But when it comes to kiLigal - pazhaya kurudi kadhavai thiRadi kadhai dhan ! :-(

pg there are no other kjy song in 'MDK'. There are only 2 songs the other one being 'sella kuzhandhaigale'by VJ and Shobha
