baba Movie Review

what did you guys think of baba movie? even though it's not like batcha, or padiyappa. it's spiritual movie. is he going to come to politics. if you see the endin you will say yes. his slogan in this movie is 'Kajam Kajam' which means past is past.

  Movie was good, The Theatre Sucks big time.....
  
  I watched baba last night in Strand Theatre , NJ... Perfect setting for a Rajini movie.. The crowd of around 700-800 were in the theatre 1 hour earlier with printed baba t-shirts and candles etc....The crowd started to shout BABA -BABA after waiting for more than 1/2 hr inside the theatre.... This is a well educated crowd with 1/2 of them being there with their families.... The movie started at 9.30 with some lousy hindi trailers which was boo-ed by the entire theatre.... The movie started and the theatre almost erupted with whistles and claps..... This was something I've been waiting for.... S-U-P-E-R S-T-A-R R-A-J-N-I ...........First day first show in front of a hostile crowd.... Literally I couldnt hear the 'Hey hey ' sound in the background.....After a few regular opening scenes came the introduction of Baba with the 'Dippu Dippu' Song..Few guys lighted their candles in front of the screen... For those who had earlier commented that this song won't suit rajini's introduction, pls watch the song in a theatre and let me know ur comments... It was the same cheer I saw for Muthu or padayppa and even at this age Rajini knows how he can attract the crowd during his intro............The first one hour of the movie had usual rajini stuff.... comedy and galatta with some punch dialogues like 'Pombalai oor suthina kettu poiduva.... aambalai veetla summa ukkandhuttu irundhale kettu poiduvan'.... and also some sanskrit yogasanam dialogues... But just as we were enjoying the movie, the unbelievable thing that could happen to any rajini fan on the first day of the movie happened.... the movie started playing upside down and in reverse..... the crowd started the boos and then the came theatre owner who told that there was a problem with the reels and it would take 2 hrs to fix it and so the movie cant continue.. The crowd got upset , few of them shouted and a few remained silent in shock........ ppl had come from different parts of northeast..... a gang from phily, few from baltimore, few of the from Boston and connecticut........and it was really a disappointment for them.... To me, I'm not a RK fan but I enjoyed the 1st one hour of the movie... I would have been happy if I could have watched 'Maya Maya', 'shakthi kodu' and 'baba kichu' songs......Now I'll have to watch it on DVD alone which is definitely not the way to see rajini's movies.....
  To be frank, two places I've really felt as If I was in India.... first time it was 2 years ago during the ARR concert in Newyork...This time it was during Baba... But the first time I felt like as I was in bombay or Delhi whereas this time I felt like I was in chennai in udayam theatre or albert theatre..... being miles away from our families in an alien country and having a feeling as if you are in your home country is the best feeling one can have... and I had that last night...

  Hey Saw Baba yesterday at Atlanta. I am a great fan of Rajini but was terribly disappointed seeing Baba.One more alavandhan.Just cant imagine how many good actors are going to be felled by Suresh Krishna. No continuity. No Rajini Comedy. No Great dresses (rajadhi raja, Annamalai ).No good fights (Hmm why is the dupe so visible in the iron fight). Awful Manisha ( a the inverted V shape). No clear cut story. Sudden compromises like they discussed the story and just jumped to make the movie. Horrible.Suddenly Rajini becomes a coolie.Oof. Then so many logical gaping holes. Rajini has a mantra that he can use seven times. He cant use it when he has drunk or eats non veg.how come the mantra work when Rajini has drunk alcohol to draw the second kite. All in all it is a poor movie. In satyam theatre, chennai already fans have started to sell their tickets. There are too many babas in the movie but there is no Rajini. All great hype movies flop because they are very very substandard than an average movie. Unfortunately even baba has to fall in that category. Hope Rajini comes with a better movie .We want Rajini to be in the movie not sachidanandha. A hotel owner should serve the food that his customers like. But he cant cook what he likes and expect the customer to like. Hope Rajini realises that he should give in his movie what people like and doesnt expect people to like what he also likes. Baba let us forget us a bad dream... Come with a real Rajini movie like Batcha... thats what people want to see you. Are You hearing Rajini?

  Watched BABA last night - an absolute SHOCKER....
  I thought I might enjoy the songs once I've seen the movie - but decided not to listen to this crap ever again !! A so-called spiritual movie with heavy metal BGM - what a joke. I'm afraid ARRs days are numbered.

  HEY ...YESTERDAY NIGHT I WATCHED BABA IN SOME NORMAL THEATRE IN MALAYSIA....MOVIE IS VERY GOOD ...I LIKED VERY MUCH (though i couldn't understand tamil completely)...and RAJNI IS SIMPLY GREAT AND STILL HANDSOME AND ATTRACTIVE ...HIS SCREEN PRESENCE STILL GREAT MAKING HIS COWERKERS LIKE MANISHA PALE BESIDES HIM AND HIS COSTUMES ALSO VERY NICE ...SUPERB MUSIC...SUPERB PHOTOGRAPHY....SUPERB MACHO FIGHTS...LOUD AND DYNAMIC DIALOGUE DELIVERY BY ALL....GOOD BGM...POOR ANIMATION BUT...LAST BUT NOT LEAST VERY CREATIVE AND PASSIONATE WEAPON OF RAJNI...NOW I AM FAN OF RAJNI TOO....FIRST I AM BIGGEST FAN OF IR FROM TAMIL AND NOW RAJNI ALSO..hee hee

  Just bcos people like you want standard fare doesnt mean Rajini dishes it out for you. I sincerely believe that this film has a spiritual message relevant for our times even though I have not seen it yet. It is releasing in Dubai on 21st and you can be sure that the crowds will be there just like it was there for Aalavandhaan...maybe more for Rajini.

  One of the worst movie I have watched in my life. No screenplay at all. Rajini, just did the screenplay as he thinks and speaks. Nothing is clear. With this kind of expectation, he should have done better. All the cast in the movie are just like that wasted. Rajini fans may tell it is a good movie. But inside, they are terribly upset with this scrap movie. Rajini sir, don't confuse the tamil nadu people and your fans. First clear yourself. You are not clear, hence your movie is total scrap. Jayankondam - Flim reel itself is taken away. Panrutti - Theate is closed. Dindivanam - Movie is stopped completelt. Other places like Kadalur, Neyveli, threats are coming every hour to stop the movie. But in my mind, PMK need not do all these things. After seeing this kind pathetic performance, the movie itself will be out of the theatre in 4 weeks. Thanks to the wonderful screenplay of SS and loussy music by the fading music star ARR.

  cosmician: is having a cigaratte in one hand and baba's symbol in another having a spiritual message. It is a known fact that rajini's success is based on his macho image,his fights,comedy,dressing sense and entertainment value in the movie, the challenge he takes up and wins it by courage and guts(Annamalai, Basha, Padaiyappa look at them). Tell me if anyone will watch if Rajini acts in a movie like mahanadhi. Rajini has proved he is a superb actor by doing good roles in Mullum Malarum, 6 ilirundhu 60 varai etc.But now if he acts in such movies people wont like it. I think you havent seen baba.If you havent booked the ticket you are lucky.
