  Vaa Pon mayile is an incredible song. The movie too is atouching one about a missing kid. Looks like we share lot of interests All the songs from Poonthalir are very good.
  
  Another SPB,SPS song from the movie is "Manadhil enna ninaivugalo".
  
  Jency song , Gyan, Gyan Padanum.

  but there is a song of SPB which i feel he should not have sung. It was for Shivaji from the film Dr. Shiva (i think). As such the song was very well sung by SPB but it was not at all suiting Shivaji. For shivaji its TMS, then the other man who did justice to shivaji was Malaysia vaasudevan.

  SPB never sang in "Dr. Siva", it was KJY, I think the song u r refering to is "malare Kurinchi malare", it is by KJY & VJ.

  these 2 songs got overshadowed by the "sippi" song.... i loved the above more than any other songs of Barathy....

  I feel the one that overshadowed mostly is "Pattu onnu padu thambi pasiya konjam marandhiduvom".
  
  If I can give a Nobel prize for singing i will give that to SPB for that song.. ((Beware I am just saying this to show the effect that song has on me... please dont pound me....)
  
  That song is superb...suits very nicely sung for an unemployed youth (very nakkal, very egaththalam singing )about the state of India..
  
  The one I liked is the way SPB says " Pasiya konjam"....he will say that in different ways at different place. Also the variations he gives for "thambi".
  
  like "Thambi", "Thambeeeee", "Thambii" are incredible. For those who havenot observed that song closely it is definitely worth a try...

  Yup, It is from Varumayin Niram Sivappu. I too like "Sippiyin" like anything. My point is "Pattu onnu" too is a wonderful song if you observe it closely.
