Soodetrum Padalgal-Who is best IR or ARR?

  I can always say with pride, that Isaignani excels in any type of song he composes. But he really marvels in songs that are too sexy. Take the example of Nettru Rathiri Amma(Sakala Kala Vallavan)...Siva Rathiri(Michael Madana Kamarajan), etc., were very catchy tunes and were all-time hits. Now the question is who is better, if not the best, in composing such SOODANA songs?

  Composing `Soodana Padalgal' doesn't mean that IR is doing a cheap sort of stuff or something like that.It needs a lot of talent you see.By this query what I intend to know is that whether the catchy tunes under this category were well scored by IR or ARR. Truly speaking, I am not for a comparison between IR and ARR. At the same time, I just want to know the opinion of you guys on the topic, so that I can also see whether ARR had come up with such stuff.(like Nila kAyuthu..netru rAthiri ammA..etc)
  Personally I feel IR romba sirathai eduthu ammathiri pAdalgal podurAr enru. That's it.

  to me this comparison is meaningless. all of arr's song turn me
  cold. yengEy sUdEththap pOvuthu, sollunga. i will go one step ahead
  of rex (sonA sonA AhA rexonA ...chummA thAn) and say that most
  great songs (music wise) fall into this category. ithula IR is a kO
  MSV is iLangkO.

  cp & Rex - Naa ippovum aanitharamaa solrein - I am still an IR fan - but I am mature and open-minded about it. I've outgrown the fanatical-phase (no reference/offence to anyone in particular) and able to enjoy GOOD music. My argument was that if you want to draw comparisons, at least do it between good (read noble) stuff. IR is indeed the winner in this category - but IMO it is nothing to be really proud of. Of course Rex knew this when he started the discussion - I just pulled the carpet from his feet ;-))

  kaliyugam was by Chandrabose and the MD for achchamillai was VSNarasimhan and not Devendran. Moreover he is not an ex-violinist, but he is still a violinist with IR.

  I couldn't figure out the lyrics with Asha's accented pronounciation. Anyway, whatever it is the song has 'excellent' lyrics.(atleast in the beginning)
