Friends,

Shall we discuss about some all time
great Lyrics in TFM by any Lyricist independent
of which Era in TFM!

Lyrics should be peculiar in writing, peculiar
in meaning, different in thinking, it has to be
different from the usual ones. It has to be
Unique in its approach/writing!

I shall give a few examples of some Lyrics
which I feel is very different and unique in its
style of writing, meaning and thinking!

  in 'idhu oru pon maalai pozhudu' there is a line like 'kelvigalaal velvigalai naan seidhen'. though i know the individual meanings of the words

  as u know kelvi is question and velvi is some sort of revolution, in the current context it would be renaissance, a challenging of established thought. the lines mean: I question the conventions and thereby create a furore, striking a new path. in the movie, rajasekar who sings the song is a radical character, full of fire, who wants change the way society thinks and functions. in one scene he even says, `what a stupid social set-up.' thus the song portrays his angst, which remains muted in the movie.

  I know I'm missing a whole stanza and the order may be wrong, but one can get the classical flavor of the lyrics from this excerpt. Was it pulamaippiththan or Kannadhaasan?

  "Naan erikkarai mael irundu..." is sung by KJY and chorus in CHINNA THHAAYI - music by IR. In the chorus, there is a voice which sounds a bit like IR, but I am not sure of that.
