  What makes some filthy animals compare IR with Deva,ARRaguman,Sirpi,Chandrabose. Dont they feel that they are committing a blunder or do they know anything about real music...!

  If there is a music director in INDIA who can write symphonies in just 10 days(music score by IR for the Hindi movie lajja is one eg.)He is ILAIYARAJA.The budapest Symphony comductor and instument players are having their jaws falling open knowing this.Mozart the great austrian composer took nearly 8 months to complete his magnificient work 'the magic flute' which plays for just 10minutes or so.When IR went to conduct london to conduct symphony for the Ist time he took only 6 months for his work and one among them plays for nearly 1 and a half hr.You know generally the others have taken 7 and even more years to get ready with their symphonies.So what do you think about IR.Being INDIANs we must be proud to have such a genius.And we people are comparing IR with AR who takes 10 months and even more to compose music for movies.Of course they are good.But can U hear the lyrics.don't know with what he asks his singers to sing.Give a paper and pencil to IR the music for the whole movie including BGM will be ready in another 1 hour.Which no other in India is capable of at present.
  IR shall not be compared with any body.For others music is just a means for bread and butter.But for IR its his breath.His music absolutely matches situations and are not exaggerated.Deva steels music.He is not at all a music director.ARs music for village oriented movies will be funny cos he uses western music which runs seperated from the movie.
  If IR had a bright skin and born in USA.U fellows will have him over your head.Let us appreciate all those with real talent.Give big hands for all INDIANS.I have very good regards for AR MSV tooo.

  Well firstly,we have to be proud that both of them are genious cause they have their own style of composing music.Both have recognition internationally and has proved for their superb background score for movies.Illaiyaraja composed symphony for the royal phillarmonic orchestra of london and rehman had composed music for bombay dreams and had a stage show performance in london.
  Whether like it or not,one should accept the fact that ar.rehman is the only man had give a new dimension to indian music and we have to be proud of that....

  Isn't it ridiculous to read the AR Fans' statements being posted. They just can't come up with a point to back their arguements. One of the examples is the comment by Leipertz. See how they react. They just write in frustration. The fact is that they are not able to pin point the creativity in an AR's song if atall there was any. Always who are fans of Illayaraja are discerned listeners of music most times. They could enjoy and grasp each bit of his work in a song. Have u ever heard an AR's fan portraying each bit of his work in a particular song. They even can't remeber what was his last work. May be AR is a good musician among others, but there is subtle difference between an inborne genius n a good musician which AR accepted himself on IR.

  Nice to have 2 good music directors to the indian credit. But an apple is an apple and an orange is an orange. It's not wise to compare illayaraja with AR or even any other indian music directors. Nobody has ever scored a background music as illayaraja has done. The time he takes to compose is so less when compared to the others. That proves his talant, the experience, the creativity and the command he has over music. I hear guys saying ARR scores good western music, but it's to be remembered that illayaraja too is inspired by Beetovan, Mozart, Bach etc. and u can hear his classical music with the western inspiration and the india touch.
  
  I hear guys saying ARR marked indian music in the world map. It's true just becoz world has shrinked to such an extent in the past 10 years. The comination of foreign channels, the internet and the ability to share information within seconds has brought the world very closer to us. Hope u guys know "Didi Didi" Khaled, everyone in the world knows about him, but how talented is he, nobody knows of it. That's the real situation. Media gives a bigger exposure and makes him a celebrity irrespective of what he is and what he is worth doing.
  
  Once we are out of India we probably know how indians are welcomed and how our culture is recognized in other countries. But adversly we indians sit back and praise western music, for it has a little tradition when compared to the indian classical music. It's real pity to know a land with 2500 year old tradition following a tradition not even 400 years old. Shame to a real indian, that's what i would like to say, and for those who still praise western music, i really have no words except to pity their ignorance. It's better to say they kow nothing about our tradition.
  
  We indians defined dance, we defined music and we still are the roof of culture. But it's sad to know that we follow the western culture and let the western culture ruin our culture in front of our own eyes.
  
  Use of foreign languages in the songs is becoming more and more common and is well recognized too. The compere using native language with an english accent is also getting popular. I'm not sure where this will end and it's a biggest threat to our great culture.
  
  I'm not against ARR, i admire Illayaraja, ARR, KV, MSV. But don't estimate music in terms of popularity. Music is much beyond that. These are the days where even the notorious has a great fame and a celebrity value. Even dawood ibrahim and osama are famous, that doesn't really make them great ever.
  
  Before comparing, try to learn what music really is. If not better don't dare to compare. That's my sincere suggestion.
  
  ARR blunder in a symphony and a sorry by realizing it doesn't patch it. It's an act of absolute over-confidence and the instinct to prove his greatness, which has brought him down and a bad mark to his music history. Symphony is no fun.
  
  Again i would like to say, i like music and every music director. Let the western music directors prove their western talent and the indian directors show the world what indian music really is. There arises no need for us to market western music either in india or abroad.
