"Energetic" songs in Carnatic style...

        Well, for those who are wondering what I'm talking about, here's an explanation (or at least an attempt at one): I'm sure you all remember "Minsaara Poovae" from "Padaiyappa". It was a song in Carnatic style, a song that I really liked, but it was different in that the rhythm of the song was quite fast - You could feel the intense heat and the rivalry between the two characters - there is so much "energy" in the song.

        How many other songs are there in TFM? What's your opinion of this style? Can we have a list of such songs?

  One of my favorites of this category is 'Idhu Keytkattivittaatha Gaanam' of Mridanga Chakravarthy fame by MSV in raagam Mohanam. Splendid mridanga pieces and unbelievable singing by M. Balamuralikrishna.

  'Maaman voodu machu voodu' from Ellaam Inba Mayam.

  Eh Guys all of u seem to have 4got10 the best of all Minsaara kanna in Vasantha from a Rajni movie.
  Kathyashree oh sorry Nithyasree and Srinivas have sung superbly.He sang the track original to be sung by Hariharan. Since it was too good Rajni insisted on having the track as original

  Sindu, I think Minsarappoove is based on ReethiGowlai.
  
  pranav, Srinivas's first song was in 'nammavar' but he didn't get a break after that. He worked with ARR for jingles and sang tracks for hariharan till he got a break with Minsarappoove.

  Interesting to note that Shubapanthuvaraali raagam which is normally used to evoke pathos has been used for a competition in the film 'PaaduNilaave' and the song is a grand song
  'Vaa veliye ilam poonguyile' , sung by SPB/Chitra and music by IR.

  It is almost 10 years since I listened to this song. It is predominantly Shubapanthuvaraali, probably with some anya swaras which I don't seem to recollect.
