PERIOD SONGS OF IR, THE GREAT

Talking about Period songs, IR proved himself in the following songs. These are , a few, to show the genius, which he is. this list is not complete.
"Agaya Ven Nilave, tharai meethu" from Arangetra Velai ( a Fazil film)

"Naan sirithal deepavali" from Nayagan

the first of this song had three different people imagining a duet and is a master piece.

  Raja, at the end of the movie (arangetra velai), ilayaraja has scored the song agaya vennilave but in instrumental version... its a duet between the veena and the flute.. LOVELY!!!
  its hard to concentrate on the credit titles rolling when you have a piece as beautiful as this as the bg... wonderful...

  Talking about, " o, Vasantha raja" from Neengal Ketavai (a Balu mahendra film), the song has two sequences, one with classical bharatha natyam pictured at a temple and the song ends on the beach with a western style dance , the percussion instrumetns used, mridangam for the first part and drums for the later part. You can notice it only if you listen to it but the mixture is awesome.
