Disgusting! What a sad reflection of TFM.
The only thing that surprises me is the sheer breadth of music these guys copy from. They must have people who are assigned to listen to hundreds of obscure CD's that they can copy from...maybe in teh hope that no one will notice

The cruel reality is that he still commands premium in the market. Also he does not feel loney in copying. Only thing that differentiates MD like Deva and likes of ARR/HJ is that the smartness in copying.

Dont u think it's easier listing his original songs?
nowadays MDs dont just copy songs.. they shamelessly infuse a bit of the original as well!
take for eg. the vai raja vai song from 5thanthiram.
he has the "meri jaan" bit as well.
same w/ Bharadwaj in Gemini.
I was listening to "Deewana" pondering over where i'd heard it b4...
and then she herself ave me an answer singin "koi ek ajnabi se"!
That was a st lift from "Ek ladki bheegi bharish mein" and the MD felt proud to announce it to the world!
Shocking.

Deva's original song? We'll have to think a lot to get one! Anyway to add to the list Deva's 'Salomiya' is 'Sayyoni' by Junoon. Deva's 'Poo virinjachu' in Mugavari is 'That thing you do' by Wonders. Here's the link - http://taiuzdod.homestead.com/files/wonder2.mp3.

There is a sad song in "Maran" totally lifted from "Saajan" hindi movie and the song is "Bahuthu Chandu Chalthe He" sung by SPB

I think Deva is underestimated too much in this forum. He may have copied songs but he has composed many great songs eg.the songs of
Bharathikannamma,porkalam,Ninaithen vandhai,
Kaadhal kottai,etc.Why don't u see the positive
side of him?The Eh Nilave song from Mugavaree
surely reveals there is a lot of talent in him.
He has composed megahit scores for all leading
actors in Tamil cinema.Still,he is the busiest
music director in the industry.

Songs of Ninaithen Vandhai are all (ditto) copied. The original composer is M.M.Keeravani for the telugu film pelli sandadi.

The reason why Deva get away is we don't have a decent review group. They have to essentially pinpoint these things. Someone write these things to say like Vikatan, Kumudham and let them expose it. Probably people will realize it.

Akila Akila from Nerukku Ner was a direct lift from Buffalo soldiers (a Bob Marley classic)

yeah, you can even hear the BSB singing "get down" in the "o nenjae" song from mugavari. but that's just the beginning for tfm-ers.
S.A. rajkumar copied "welcome boys" from mr. president's coco jambo. straight lift.
deva's probably the "best" (meaning most obvious) copier, though. he's done dozens. there is a song from "vivaramaanu aalu" which is a straight lift from the "piya piya" hindi song from har dil jo pyar karega, was it?

I spontaneously thought BSB was Bishen Singh Bedi, unless going thru the posts gave me the answer :))

Couldn\'t find the related copied songs thread, so i am posting it here.
Happened to listen to a song (suriyanai konjam?) from Image, MD jeyasurya. Was he an assitant of arr too? He has copied whole china china aasai song. Seems like he has talents but trying things out in the wrong direction?
