Toronto Concert - SP/ Shankar Mahadevan / Sivamani / Sujatha

What were your thougts on the Toronto concert (Air Canada Center) on July 6th?

Was it worth the money?

Which songs did you like?

  Shankar Mahadevan got carried away in his improvisations. He does not have to improvise every song on stage. People will lose interest in the long run. SPB, Sujatha and Ganga stuck to the original and delivered well. SPB's 'Sangeetha Jaadhi mullai' from 'Kaadhal Oviyum' was the highlight of the evening. Sivamani wasted about 30 minutes on solo percussion.

  Overall, this is the best tamil show I have ever seen in North American subcontinent.
  
  Vasundra Das and Shankar Mahadevan had no control singing on Tracks (not played live). Those songs were a mess.

  I know that it is a big theatre. I am not sure if there were 10,000 people out there even though the organisers claimed to have sold 14,000 tickets.

  I heard the show was a total flop because there were hardly 5 to 6 thousand ppl in the show and the capacity of air canada auditorium is 35 thousands.The organisers must have felt a severe blow sorry for them

  When you say "TAMIlS" you are specifically referring to only Indian Tamils. In Toronto there are great number of Ceylon Tamils (200,000), Malaysian Tamils(10,000), Indian Tamils (15,000), Singaporean Tamils(2000) and Fijian Tamils (5000).

  The show was not bad.
  I got to see all the stars in person and got their autographs.
  I was even back stage.A party was also held after the performance was over, really FUN!!!
