NO SONGS in Mani Ratnam's film

No songs in Mani’s film! NEW!

Mani Ratnam’s bilingual in Hindi and Tamil will not have any songs!

Mani- Rahman combination has always created excellent music but this time there will be no songs and instead Rahman will be giving a great background score for the film. And for the trailers to be shown on satellite channels there will be teaser songs.

The duration of this untitled film will be only 2 hours 15 minutes. The Hindi version is already complete with only a few scenes of Vivek Oberoi to be shot once he is back in action after the freak accident that happened in Kolkatta.

The Hindi version is likely to be titled Yuva and the Tamil Ayutha Ezhuthu. The Tamil version will now have Surya (Ajay Devgan in Hindi) , Madhavan ((Abhshek Bachchan in Hindi) and Siddharth (Vivek Oberoi in Hindi) along with Meera Jasmine, Simran and Trisha Krishnan.

The background for the Tamil version will be Chennai and Mani plans to release both the versions simultaneously in January 2004. Since there are no songs and the film is shot using sync sound (saves dubbing time) the work will be complete in less time.

  I know how desperate and frustrated you are. You say MR, KB, BR have run out of ideas. This is like sour grapes. Just because they went to ARR you call them dum-wits know?
  
  Accept the fact they are moving with the times. Ofcourse IR has his own circle know and is doing justice to scripts that require his kind of music. Thangar Bachan, Kamal, BM.
  
  I hated BM's julee ganapathy. Absoulte rip-off of "misery". Not even adapted. HE is such a great talented director. I likeed Sathi Leelavathy better

  Did I say for any other films Mani approached IR? why I am particulary saying this is because Karthik raja himself told that information in an interview. I don't know whether this interview is available still on the net. If I find it, I will post it here.

  And yes, BM is. Veedu is good enough to prove you that he is talented. He has taken scene by scene remakes of other language films in tamil to have them available for tamil audience just like mozhipeyarkapatta nool.

  You can imagine Madhavan singing 'vidiya vidiya nadanam' if you want. oh!yeah!! Madhavan's career was sky-rocketed after Alaipayuthe which got ended in Parthale Paravasam. Don't we know that?

  MR is not a big player in the tamil industry. I don't think he can give a hit in the range of MR, Nayagan and Roja anymore. Those days are over.

  YES ALL MR, BR, KB are gone long back. They cannot fulfill the fans expectations with out IR.
  Also IR used to carry the films tempo if the direction or scripting or editing were dull.
  This was told by many directors and film artists. They were more confident and sometimes careless too, that things will be taken care during Re-recording br IR. So they were more creative in their way and raja use to take care of it with his music.
