  on one rice grain songs,
  most of MGR's theme songs tell the story of the film, because his films were all practically driving home the same point, i.e do good, shun evil, fight for thaai mann, i am Mr. Nice Guy, so on. so u can't take it seriously.
  unlike idaya deivam ndaigar thilakam. if u check out "yaarukkaaga" from vasantha maaligai, the entire idea behind the movie is clear. so is the case with "antha naal gnyabagam", "devane ennai paaarungalllll", "paalootti valarththa kili", "yaarantha nilavu", "oli mayamaana ethirkaalam", "engirundho vandhaan", "edivame deivammme, nanri solven deivame", etc, etc.
  why even "poongatru thirumbuma" could fall under this category.

  'katha kelu' from MMKr is an awesome song. the whole flasback of the film has been fitted in this one song. crdit goes to the lyricist.

  varavu aettaNaa saelavu paththaNaa song from bhaama vijayam is another oru soru of orupaanai soru.
  
  KB, in an interview told that he wanted a song that describes the story at the same time should be a comical one. He did a rush thru show of the film that had been shooted so far and showed to KaNNadaasan. After seeing the film immediately KD started penning the song. If we listen to the song the song not only gives the moral of the story but also describes whatever happened (satire on characters' characteristics) etc was there.

  That is sung in engagement (simron acts as if she's willing)
  
  So Indrodu Anumar baktan Brahmacharyam Mudigiradhe..
  
  First Para-Tik tik Yendru Sathama unnale yennule Ketkindradhe (she would have kept a watch & stitched)
  
  she'll Sing ore oosi Pottal podhum Uyir Vazhume(she had to operate him to take the Watch Out so that she'll escape from Danger)
  
  He'll sing Thayyal Pottu thaithaye thayyal nee unnodu thane
  
  Etc.. the whole story (what ever happenned ) is brought out in these lines

  Most of KB's movies have atleast a song which tells the story in a nutshell.
  a. 'Naan oru Sindhu' and 'poomaalai vaangi vandhan' from SindhuBhairavi aptly tell the dilemma of the hero and heroine.
