Can Ialyaraja survive without budget & masala movie makers?

I did not here IR scoring music for any popular directors or actors in recent years but he still scoring music. That tends to suggest that he is heavily depending on budget & masala movie makers. What do you all think?.

  ST..I am here not to fight with you as I said that was purely my personal opinion. If you read a bit carefully cassette album said that movie had only part(s) of the song(s)..that too pasted here and there..I sincerely feel my memory is definitely not sharp enough to remember these scattered pieces?

  Fliflo, don't take it as a personal attack & It was meant to be a friendly one. Those two songs in that film is really good to listen to as its got very nice words & themes. This is what makes the big difference between IR and ARR.

  Roja was produced at a lower cost and sold it with low price tag only.

  Exactly. That Sakhiye song comes as a flash back (in backgound) and also some time in the end to symbolise the irony in Vijay kumar's life.
  I don't know what is pseudo realism in it. It was probably one of the realistic movies of BR.
  
  It was more real and non melodramatic that Vedham pudidhu and that polics film with a story of a slum fellow.
  One good point of ARR which I have always obswerved is , he doesn't try to conquere over the scene with the music. He goes along with the naration. Not divergently opposite to it.

  Well if the naration is dragging or slowing down the movies pace, the it the music directors resposibility to over come the situation. And not drag down further. Here IR ia always a head of everyone. ok

  I understand your frustration. If you expect ARR to kill a scene and overplay with his supposed WCM knowledge like IR then I am sorry. ARR is not of that range. ARR plays for the film and with the film. See TLOBS first and then you will understand how to score BGM with out killing other's performance.

  STS, YES... I agree with you. That's why IR let other MD's to score music for high budget & non-masala movies. Sounds funny, is it not? !!
