  vairamuthu is not a meethavai..but i think what he says about suppudu is correct only..suppudu just blaming arr and others..i dont like suppudu at all...

  I'm VM's fan.. I like his poems and his writings.. Like his songs too but not all.. I personally feel that VM + ARR best combo was 'pachaik kiligal' from Indian. 'mazhaiyil kUda sayam poga vAnavil Anantham'. nice 'varigal' But he thinks he is so great. Most of his songs are 'vArthai jAlangal'. But he won't agree admit this. vAlee is far more better than VM. I agree with Subbudu (the original one!). What are we going towards? Western culture? If VM really concern about 'ilakkiyam' and Tamil he should have a stand on his writings.. or just say it like VAlee.. 'nAn elumbuthundukku vAlattum nAi'.

  One thing that i noticed, He is blaming the audience for his low quality of writing. And I do not agree with this. If the people in the film making industry can cut down their extravaganza and start making good films with good music, lyrics, stories, direction etc.. Iam sure the audience will like them. Audience are watching these trash since they dont have a choice.
  Please take a look at director "Mahendran's" interview in the same issue of kumudam.

  I think cinema lyrics do have a lot of restrictions like the story, music, mass audience, heros and heroines etc.. Still Kannadasan and people before him ("Pattukkottai, Thanjai Ramaiahdoss, Ku.Ma.Pa") did have some sense of social awareness/consciousness, which is totally absent these days. Well if those people could give good lyrics inspite of all the above limitations, whynot Vairamuthu and the others who are giving crap and justifying.

  It is a war between Raja and VM.
  VM blame Subbudu because of the above reason only.Nonthing else.(Since Subbudu support Raja in his article in Kumudham)

  Simple. Those days, movies had stories. Real stories and morals. Can you vouch it now. VM is doing a good job inspite of that. AIMHO.

  VM is just another lyricist. He just revolves around a very finite set of words like 'vAnam, Jannal, otrai,...'
  And,anyone who claims he, himself is great,cannot be great.
  He should know how to handle success & familiarity. Otherwise, all the skill he has will be a waste (if at all he has any!)
